I've stayed there quite a few times already and I remember first time I booked it was because I didn't have much choice. But I quite liked it, and it became my "last resort" when I'm on a tight budget. The house is very old, but the owners make a good effort to keep everything in a decent shape and keep the shared areas and bed linen clean. I stayed there both in winter and in summer, and don't remember overheating or freezing. Additional blanket provided in cold season. Can feel a bit humid when it rains, though. Always many guests, some live there long-term. Therefore attention is paid to discipline and safety. Some sitting areas outside will please the smokers. No freezer in the kitchen, just hostel type big fridges with glass doors, so far always enough space to squeeze your items in. Overall, if you are not too picky, good place to stay if you need to get by for some time.. Lifesaver, so to say.. Communication is always good, in the first part of the day there is always someone at the little reception room near the entrance. You also can get some yellow coins for washing machine there if you happened not to have any. Ventilation in the bathrooms could be better. Especially when the weather is rainy, there are many guests and it is very humid.

Nice host, quiet place No crockery in the kitchen, bathrooms often busy because shower and toilet are combined, no curtains on beds. One night guests were noisy until 5 am outside the window of room 1, there's a garden table just outside the window. I would try to avoid that room if I were to book again

the location was very convenient. The room itself was adequate The location of the rooms was terrible. My room was directly next and shared a wall with the bathroom. the bathroom had noisy doors and i was awoken several times by people coming and going. Also people were noisy in the general areas up to close to 12pm. Having no noise curfew was a problem.

It smells really bad

May is great. Property is actually cleaner than I expected and the ones from same kind of looks. Some weird people as usual in Australian hostels.

It's relatively close to Optus stadium and to be fair it's a good price. There was a distinct odour when I walked into my room (6 bed dorm), my friend stayed in the 4 bed dorm which wasn't so odorous. The smell was due to people living in the 6 bed dorm. And they seem to be quite comfortable there, because they leave their stuff all over the floor. The room was also constantly murky, it wasn't fully dark at night and wasn't bright in the day. The windows were never opened. If the walls in this place could talk they'd scream. The shower pressure left an awful lot to be desired and one of the two bathrooms we could find didn't lock. The bathrooms weren't dirty but also weren't entirely clean. Also most of the clientele were over 40.

It needs a thorough cleaning; the place requires maintenance. There were some "problematic" people during my stay, fights…

The place looks like don't have owner. You can tell if a place has been looked after.

The place are dirty. And smell's like different. The shared room is a mess also the lounge. The people keep on making noise. The smell of the place is shit. People living there for long term are creep.

I think this is the most bizarre hostel I’ve visited so far and not in a good way, should stay away
-
Some kind guest‘s The owner is really angry, it’s really dirty everywhere, the fridges, kitchen, bathroom is really disgusting

Jimmy has created a beautiful place, he whirls through the hostel every morning and is always helpful and friendly. The accommodation is kept clean and the atmosphere is friendly and respectful. Even though the facilities are basic, nothing is missing. The living room invites you to spend evenings watching TV together and the terrace is a cosy place to sit together. Victoria Park is close to the city centre and is a relaxed green family home neighbourhood with parks and a fantastic view of Perth's city centre. Anyone who can get a bed there is lucky. Almost always fully booked

Nothing It was absolutely disgusting and totally repulsive. I legitimately thought I might catch a disease staying here and could not wait to leave. The second I woke up I had my things packed and out the door I RAN.

Very very kind helpful host, let us store our bags before check in. Walking distance to some great restaurants.

I don’t know I couldn’t checked in. They messaged me to know my time of arrival and I requested a late check in. To be sure, I sent a picture of my ID my email but they never replied to me. When I landed in Perth I had nowhere to spend the night. The front desk clearly doesn’t take care about their guests and they ghost messages.
