Hotel Colombo

The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay when our flights were cancelled and we needed a place to wait for a new flight.

I got a horrible sinus headache whenever I was in the room and had the air conditioning on. When I turned it off and opened the balcony door I didn't get a headache. I tested this three times and always came up with the same outcome. Maybe the air conditioning unit needs to be cleaned? Or maybe it was a coincidence? I didn't tell the staff about this because I didn't want to disappoint them. Everything else was very good.

Friendly staff. Needs a little maintenance. Beds are low. Balcony table and chairs are very flimsy.

Clean, hot breakfast included. Wonderful staff. Spacious apartments available for family stay. Amazing poolside seating and lounging, quiet and a beautiful view of Vila do Porto, and the ocean. The mattresses are very uncomfortable, hard, lining on the bottom of the mattresses is coming off. This was my third stay in the last 12 years. I hope the hotel has the mattresses replaced for my next stay.

Views, location, convenient to town. Staff friendly and helpful. Need a car to get around, but with the car all is easy, hotel has lots of free parking. One of the island’s three dive businesses located directly on the property. Breakfast was ok, not great, could be easily improved. Bar staff doesn’t know how to make cocktails at all, and it is not their fault really, perhaps they can get better instructions from management? Could sell a lot more drinks, and it’s a very good idea for this hotel to host a happy hour. Bath towels are a bit thin and worn out. No real toiletries, some soap is all, maybe update those? None of the above is a real problem, just suggestions.

Excellent customer service - a few examples I consider going above and beyond: helping us open wax sealed wine and providing us glasses when we didn't order the wine from the hotel (wanted to try a local Santa Maria wine), and delivering a birthday cake (we did not request). Breakfast was good, varied and filling. Overall facilities and rooms were well equipped. The building and rooms are dated but only aesthetically. No issues with comfort or functionality.

A quiet location at the north end of Vila do Porto. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was decent. Our1bedroom suite was spacious and adequately equipped for simple meal preparation.

Unbelievable - they made me a cake for my birthday! I was SO touched ? unfortunately I couldn't eat it as I have an egg allergy ? but what a gesture! Wind noise. OK, they can't do anything about it because it's how and where the hotel is built. Needs sockets next to beds again this is a design problem.

apartments are really clean, huge, bright and well equipped! staff is very friendly and always available. location is perfect, in between everything! amazing view! maybe breakfast can be improved a bit. croissants are not the best ones and fruit is not always there. Some pots in the apartment are a bit damaged, maybe could be renovated.

location is perfect! close to the supermarket, close to the antenna site, close to the Vila do Porto centre. rooms are large and full of light! I got the apartment and also had a wonderful terrasse. clean and equipped with air conditioning. staff available 24h! I am a bit picky with croissants and coffee...not my favorite ones - but it could be me...:)

Good value for less than 60 Euro. Friendly helpful staff at the desk.

Peaceful location The beds and pillows need to be improved. Beds are very hard with no cushioning. Pillows are shapeless and small. No restaurant on site No local bus, need to use taxi to get to anywhere. Nothing close by
