We could not have had a better experience at CitizenM NOMA. The staff was exceptionally kind. The vibes were immaculate - very inclusive and welcoming. They also have the most efficient check-in/check-out I have ever experienced - no waiting in line to check in! The area is also perfect- close to everything but not in the middle of everything and in an area that felt safe, fun and inclusive.

Worst stay ever. The ac in my room would not work. I called the front desk and they offered to switch our room which I agreed to. The new room also funny enough does not have a functioning ac. So I once again called the front desk and said that, and they had maintenance come up and “fix it”. On Saturday, after maintenance left, my friend and I went to a festival and when we returned our room was still hot. We had to buy a $40 fan because we couldn’t sleep. I called front desk again and they refunded me for the first night and offered to move us again (which I declined to move because we had a lot of luggage and they don’t have carts to move our stuff. Plus the odds of having working ac in a new room, while the past 2 rooms on 2 different floors didnt is very slim) or he can send maintenance in the morning so I said that maintenance coming in the morning is fine. Sunday morning after maintenance fixes ac, he left the cover of the ac panel hanging (photo attached) We went for day 2 of festival and when we got back IT WAS STILL HOT. I once again go to the front desk and explained how unacceptable this is for maintenance to lie and say they found & fixed the issue. Two separate guests overheard me say this, and approached me saying that their ac also wasn’t working. I then asked the person at the front desk “can you at least refund me for the second night since maintenance failed to fix it?” He said no since he offered a solution (to have maintenance come back or move our room.)

Everything was great

We paid for the breakfast, which was good. There were really big flies surrounding the food, which made me lost my appetite, but still ate from the food that was covered. They had a small menu but good variety. Way fancier than a continental breakfast but small compared to bigger hotels. The walk to the metro was great in the morning, like a 5-7 minute walk, so that was convenient. The neighborhood seemed cleaned and well maintained. I would definitely come back to this hotel with my spouse next time.

it’s a very european type hotel and I really enjoyed it. room was a bit small but it was fine for two. the ability to control the room from an ipad was awesome. staff was great, helped us every time. very kind as well. good area not far from a metro or parking

Had some exceptional circumstances, and the staff have very little authority to help guests navigate.
-
I paid for the room in full through Orbitz in advance, and I was charged by the hotel directly for the stay. I cannot get a hold of anyone who works at the hotel to ask about these charges as they are mostly "autonomous" meaning there are no traditional registration person as they use devices to check in and check out. Other than that the room and the amenities were fine, but I am still unable to resolve this issue after 2 weeks.

It’s one of my favorite hotels in DC. Breakfast is really good and cheap. The rooms are pretty efficiently organized despite the small size.
