There is nothing I didn’t like. Everything was beyond excellent. You couldn’t ask for anything more.
-
I didn’t like the phone system. It was most unhelpful always assuming I knew who I wanted to talk to rather than addressing my question or concern. I never contacted anyone via the system. I had to relate my problems while paying my bill. The room service was not much better than getting food delivered by DoorDash. The food was good, but plastic eating utensils. Really! It was disappointing when you pay $400.+ a night. Lovely room. However, the temperature was set on 65 when we arrived and didn’t change much when we raised the temperature to 72. It was extremely cold on a day when the outside temps were in the 90’s. Only my third stay in 50 years. Quite a step down over the years.

The restaurant is ok. The hotel is superb!!

This was a wonderful property with helpful staff.

Had a wonderful stay. The property was beautiful

However, property is beginning to show some age. Furniture in the room was pretty banged up. Disappointing that there’s no mini fridge in the room. An empty mini bar fridge that had no temp controls and not cold enough for food (leftovers) was not worth having in the room. It hardly cooled the bottled water that was complimentary. Power outages due to storms the first night made our room very uncomfortable due to no air conditioning. The next morning we still didn’t have hot water in the bathroom sinks. At check out, we asked for an adjustment on our room cost due to the inconvenienced and was told that “upper management will be in touch in about a week”. It has been over a week and no one has reached out. That is unacceptable guest service. I worked in the hospitality industry for over 12 years and there is no reason a guest should be told to “wait and see”. For the price we paid to stay in a luxury hotel I would expect more from their staff. Not sure we will stay again. Very disappointing.

Overall pleasant experience

We came to this property to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel did not disappoint us. The staff were excellent! They were always helpful. The Terrace Room, the hotel restaurant, made our celebration special. The hotel is very elegant. Our room was spacious. We would highly recommend this property.
-
Beautiful property in a great location. Our room was not cool. It was a fair bit warmer than the common areas of the hotel. We told the staff about it and were told that it would be looked into but in never got any cooler in there.

This is a true 5 Star hotel
-
Room service is with plastic and paper products like take out, very shocking and disappointing for such a renowned and beautiful inn.
-
Inn was great. Enjoyed the pool, spa,my husband golfed and loved drinks at the bar . Best housekeeping i have ever experienced. Fit in woth the colonial williamsburg experience.
-
Our room was not ready at check-in, and we waited over an hour. Had I not repeatedly followed up with the front desk, I don’t believe it would have been ready when it finally was. The delay forced us to cancel our anniversary dinner because we no longer had time to unpack, shower, and relax. When we finally got to our room, the air conditioning didn’t work. The hotel brought in a noisy portable unit and promised to repair the main system, but never did. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of service recovery. No one sincerely apologized, offered an explanation, or made any effort to make things right. The staff knew we were celebrating our anniversary, yet there wasn’t even a simple acknowledgment or gesture. Housekeeping was equally inconsistent. Despite never displaying our “Do Not Disturb” sign, we received turndown service only once, on our final night, even after raising the issue. Problems happen at every hotel. What defines a luxury property is how those problems are handled. Unfortunately, the Williamsburg Inn showed no urgency, ownership, or concern for its guests. We returned because of wonderful memories from past visits, but left feeling overlooked and deeply disappointed.

We always love staying here; the facilities are exceptional.
-
Make reservations at the restaurant upon booking or arrival as none were available to us. We opted to eat in the bar. Food was good but not hit enough. The lobster was raw and was sent back to the kitchen. Expensive disappointment.

Incredible rooms with a lot of old world charm.

Everything was excellent.
