Comfortable rooms, very clean, superb breakfast, frendly staff.

On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and was adequately furnished. The bathroom was a little tired but it was clean enough. For the price point I couldn't really fault the hotel. I'd return to the hotel on my next visit to York and hope that I could book a room in the new extension.

The room was ok, needing refreshed. However, the bathroom was disappointing, and the shower location is no good, especially for someone tall.

Pleasant stay, short walk into the city…but regular buses to the centre available. Comfortable traditional hotel, friendly staff. Good sized rooms.

They need to be fairer with their check-in deadline of 10pm. I arrived 15 minutes before this and the front desk staff member said she was about to lock up!

All i can say is i can't fault a thing very nice people helpful and go out ouf there way to help you i will definitely stay here again every time i visit york

Staff are lovely and friendly but the overall condition of the place is seriously lacking. Also charging guests £10 to use the building site at the premises to park their cars is just penny pinching. No hair conditioner provided so couldn’t wash my hair. Really wasn’t worth the £175 for the night if I’m honest. I get it’s an old building but I’ve stayed at old hotels in the past and they’ve been kept in better condition. Creaky bed, creaky floorboards and when husband used the shower, it wouldn’t turn off. Like I say, the staff are really lovely but I won’t be back in a hurry.

It is located about 25 - 30 minutes walk to the city centre, but there is a bus service from just opposite.

Staff were fabulous, friendly and extremly helpful. Part of the hotel needs an upgrade or refresh but otherwise very convenient.

Really enjoyed my brief stay. Hotel has charm and character. Staff were brilliant: friendly, helpful, and made me feel very welcome. Room was well-equipped and clean. Hotel was quiet at night. Situated in comvenient location for railway station and city centre.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of town not far from the train station. Quiet comfortable rooms. Great breakfast and pleasant staff. Perfect for a weekend while exploring York.

No welcome pack, no fridge, very uncomfortable pillows, no window with a view in bedroom so very dark. Very helpful host and friendly, lovely breakfast, good location for York central, rather surprised to be charged for car parking.

The floor was hugely squeaky - the planks under the carpet really need screwing down.
