We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The room in the roof was wonderfully romantic, with exposed beams on the ceiling and a standing bathtub in the bedroom. Staff were very kind and left an annivsary welcome with chocolates on our bed and carried our luggage up to our room. Wonderful breakfast too! Everything was great!

Location - very central in York. Comfortable bed; friendly, helpful staff; character building; very good breakfast. Whilst the location is right in the middle of York, it can come with some disadvantage- if staying over a weekend, noise levels from night time revellers are noticeable.

Fabulous location right in the centre of everything. The room was lovely and had lots of lovely additions /extras such as biscuits, bottled water and fan. All staff was brilliant so polite and pleasent. The decor in the room was lovely and everything was pretty clean. The bath was amazing and the main reason we booked this room. Could just do with a little dust behind the beam above the bed it had a few cobwebs, but was overall very clean still. There is lots of stair which wasnt an issue for us however could be for some. Could be signposted better for the stairs as we ended up in the restrant the first time by accident!! The breakfast was good but not really enough of it exspecially for my husband! The light on the landing did also shine through the cracks of the door quite brightly during the night.

A delightful hotel. Charming room, atmospheric hotel, outstanding location. The bed was comfortable. Forest - the hotel restaurant - was great: breakfast was tasty, good selection. I had a dinner there too - highly satisfying. Service was outstanding. Nothing at all - everything was amazing
