Location and age, style of pub Need a heads up to reserve meals to eat there. Restaurant looked fab! Also a heads up that there is no luggage storage at the York location which isn't stated on website.

Location Quaintness of the place Very hot room on the top floor with only a tiny fan to cool down the room Very expensive drinks in the Secret Garden; somewhat user un-friendly QR Code-based ordering system

Location Picture misrepresented hotel , this is basically a pub with a few rooms above the pub, anyone with any mobility issues or are aging , could not use this hotel. Had to climb and haul luggage 3 flights of tight stares. Staff was not helpful when ordering drinks/food in garden lounge ,asked staff if they served this area, they replied that they did not. So I climbed 2 sets of stairs to get a drink and order food. Only to find out latter they in deed do service the area I asked about!

Beautiful location steps from the Uork Minster and Bootham Bar. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. The rooms were a little tight due to historic nature of the building, but everything was pretty and very clean.

The location was excellent, right up against Bootham Gate and an easy stroll to the cathedral. Room was charming, if a little small for two people. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had lunch in the garden and it was very nice.

Staff were friendly and helpful.
-
Location proximity to the theatre Quirkiness No view due to all the scaffolding outside.

Brilliant location.

Staff were excellent, especially the lady who served us breakfast ? N/A

Location Didn’t get booked in properly , which caused hassle to sort it out , building covered in scaffold , could get into the bar area for over 40 mins even though we were residents , just very average all round for money

We would love to go back.

This is a great little inn above the restaurant so you’ll be climbing. The pub is great, as is the location. The staff was extremely helpful.

Room and inside decor, Nice outside space at the pub, friendly and helpful staff. When we dropped off our bags, staff told us when our room would be ready (a little early) and took our bags up to our room for us. Nothing. It is above an old pub, so it lacks A/C (there is a good fan in the room) and has stairs, but that was all clear before we booked and not an issue for us.

The staff were awesome. The attic room was very nice, better than our previous room (earlier stay in the same week). Having fans in the room was so helpful. We could have used a little more space in the bathroom to place toiletries. The wifi did not reach our room during our first visit--it did work for some others but not for us.

Location, location, location Very tiny rooms

It’s quirkyness and location

The room was AMAZING for what I paid. It was 3x larger than any room I stayed in this week and for the same cost (or less). It was decorated tastefully, and felt cozy. The staff let me check in 20 min before 4p, which was nice. The bathroom was large and the shower was huge. Nothing

Great place to spend a night in York. It was close to everything I wanted to see. Cute and quirky place.

Everything, the hotel is unique and cool. Loved the decor and everything about this place.

Everything was fine the only moan i have is the room had an air con unit outside my window making a noise plus it overlooked the beer garden, so there was a bit of noise from that too. The hotel does however, supply earplugs for you which i used on the second night and slept like a baby. Thanks Nothing
