Bacon sandwich served on delicious , soft white bread. The full works for full English too. Friendly staff. Not luxury but comfortable stay with parking being a huge plus. Very close to all the pubs, shops and restaurants. The Minster only 5 mins away on foot. We will return Remote control missing. Staff were aware but hadn't got replacement. Let us use the pubs universal control but had to return as used in pub too

Great location steps from Yorkminster. Parking on site with assist from Mark was great and room in ground fooor was a bonus.

Everything was tidy and clean. The staff was friendly and kind. They did not store my luggage just for a few hours on the last day, that would be great.

The breakfast was fantastic! The room size was okay, but could have done without the dog bed (that i didn't need). The room was too hot, I think they could have provided a fan. The toilet was tiny! There was a dog bed in the room just taking up space, this could have been removed.

Great location with a very short walk to centre, staff were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived on a motorbike and was grateful that we could store our gear after we had checked out so we could fit in a bit more sightseeing. Very little we didn't like, but it was a shame the curtain was not thicker to block out more light which would have helped sleeping.

perfect location, room was spotless, host was very welcoming and left a little something our room for my husbands birthday, we were able to park up and check in early as our room was ready, it was our 1st time visiting york and we will be coming back again and would choose to stay at gillygate guest house again, thankyou ??? couldnt fault anything

LOCATION!!! And Mark is most accommodating. The bathroom is not well lit and the shower is a bit slow, but this is a minor problem that in no way should keep anyone from booking here.

Locating the hotel parking was a bit of trouble ; also climbing 3 story stairs was a bit challenging with suitcases
