Clean room , good walk in shower , coffee tea and biscuits in room and replenished next day . Breakfast was good plenty of choice and cooked breakfast hot , also parking onsite Window wouldn’t open was warm in room

Lovely position near to the city centre, very friendly staff members, happy to help and answer questions. Nothing. We will definitely come back for another visit.

Our room was nearly perfect. See below, which probably should have been put in the next section! We realise that not providing a non-slip mat for the bath does present a hazard -- especially for older guests - and we have met this before. In that particular case, we asked for one at reception, which was given with no fuss. We solve the problem more quickly now by laying a hand towel in the bath. Good mats are expensive to replace, of course, if they go walks! We enjoyed our breakfast, both the food and the service. The gentleman who has been with you for 34 years, I think, performed his part of the service with great skill and we were very pleased that he had been given the chance to work with you for so long. (More organisations should take every opportunity to employ staff in this way!) The proximity to the centre of York was excellent. Neither my husband and I is disabled (82 and 79 respectively), but the stairs to our room (second floor) were a little steep for comfort. I'm not sure whether this was mentioned in your details.

The staff were fantastic. All the staff we encountered were charming. Super breakfast. Very comfortable clean and very quiet room within waling distance of the centre.

Lovely quirky hotel. The room (attic room, 14) was really nicely decorated with a very big bed and lovely big shower. Breakfast was good and the staff serving breakfast were very efficient and friendly. We were really pleased with our one night stay. The reception staff were a bit curt. We were getting married in the venue next door and the person on reception made the morning awkward for us, questioned if we were really getting married and was a bit rude and defensive. But the owner kindly let us stay in the car park an extra day for free so we didn't have to rush back. Also the toilet was positioned a bit too high on the wall. Not really an issue but our feet didn't touch the ground!
