Excellent location with parking, friendly staff, hassle free Our room only had a skylight rather than a window and the bathroom was small

Location and staff were excellent Could have been a bit clearer

Location, friendly staff, bed was comfortable enough. They had me do a pre check in so I could do self check in, but then they didn’t give me directions on how to self check in or what room I was. Apart of the info that they didn’t give me for check in was the WiFi password. The shower got stuck on scalding hot water without being able to turn it back down. There was a stain on the unstarted toilet paper.

The room had curtains but they weren't black out curtains so there is light in the room at night from street lights and until late from sunset being around 11pm and of course when the sun comes up. Also can hear all the noise from the street at night. Used a sound machine and eye mask which solved both issues but would be an issue for someone that didn't bring that

Close to the city center, staff were friendly Bed was uncomfortable, noise outside till early hours, breakfast service was not the best.

Location was good Bed extremely uncomfortable and broken fixtures and fittings in the bathroom - worst thing was we needed to leave early in the morning (7am) and the carpark had been locked - the key code did not open the gate and we were trapped for 45 mins whilst trying to get someone to come and open in it

Could of had black out curtains

The staff that checked me in. It’s ridiculous I paid what I paid for this. Horrible tiny room, cobwebs, damp, terrible bathroom, couldn’t shower as the only temperature was scalding hot. My room overlooked the court yard which meant every time someone came in throughout the night I heard them use the keypad etc. Truly one of the worst rooms I’ve ever stayed in, thank god for the staff who gave the place some redeeming feature.

The check in process was not clear and terribly confusing. There was no one there to check us in when we arrived and the hotel contact numbers did not work. The barber next door (incredibly kind and helpful) had to help us get in contact with the hotel to finally get the access code and know what room we were in.

We had the family room and it was perfect for our family. Great location, parking, so cozy and full of personality. I didn’t get a very necessary message about check in procedures, and the phone call I tried would not go through. Might be because we are from U.S.? We had to wait quite a while until another guest came along and called for us.

The inn is really central, very close to the Foss, to many varied food outlets and to supermarkets. It's also close to the bus stops in Stonebow so it's perfect for catching buses to Whitby, Scarborough etc. It's also very close to York museum, Clifford's Tower, the river and tha Shambles so you can walk to anywhere in York with ease.

Location is excellent, value for money at the date that i choose, although it was over double to triple that a week later. Not sure it worth paying that much. Very convenient also if you want food or haircut right next door No internet for the duration. Paid parking charged for. Didnt spot that on booking.com but it was there. Place would be better if parking for free obviously.
