Enokiya Ryokan

Hotel located in the heart of yufuin so eateries and sightseeing places are nearby. Love the separate area for resting/eating. It is quite expensive but you can to experience a ryokan with a modern twist. Shower area is on the first floor where the onsen is. One night is sufficient.

Indoor and outdoor onsen available, massage therapist can come to your hotel room, reserved breakfast and dinner available, bed is very comfortable The sink counter for the room is very low, I wanted to see the scenery from my window but the glass is totally frosted and it did not open

Amazing place, staff is very friendly, private Onsens are very nice, location is amazing. The room was very clean and with beautiful details and the bed was super comfy.

Standouts about the property for me were the super friendly and helpful staff, especially the young lady that works the front desk…plus serves food during dinner; and the delicious food served at breakfast and the special dinners. The room was like a studio apartment! Staff could have worn name tags so we could mention them by name.

The toilet smells a bit.

I think the Enokiya Ryokan is the best hotel on this earth in my professional opinion... In all seriousness, the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate my needs. The place itself is beautiful. The Onsen's are pristine and lovely. The breakfast is amazing! The location is central and convenient. I will be back again and again. Thank you Enokiya and your wonderful staff! Nothing this is my favorite place.

The environment and overall design and decoration of the property is comfortable and nice. The dinner and breakfast are well served and most appropriated. It is a property use shared bathroom. But l cannot find any spared bathroom other than the one inside the hot bath. There are only 3 hot baths in the property and need to wait until other people finished using the hot bath. If the person staying in the property are not couples, they need to wait even longer until they can have a quick shower. Location is a bit far from train station and better for people driving or approaching by taxi.

Family style breakfast, recently renovated with spacious room The staffs were fine, except for one gentleman who seemed less willing to help. Was depressed to see trash left over from the previous user in the private hot spring.

The rooms are huge and well lit. They have a lot of amenities, like books or tea/coffee. Good lighting. Staff speaks great English and was very helpful. Private onsen were great Beds too hard. I know that Japanese like hard mattresses, but this one was not comfortable

What a great find! A “traditional” ryokan onsen experience in a modern building. Love the spacious room with western beds and a raised platform futon/seating area with large windows overlooking the river! There’s attached toilet with sink but no shower/bath in the room but we love showering in the onsen. There are 3 onsen rooms (2 with outdoor pool). First come first serve. Tablet in the room will let you know when they’re occupied/available. You lock the door to the onsen room so essentially you have your private onsen experienced!!! The Japanese buffet breakfast is excellent and substantial. Love the dining room- there’s a loft area as well. If you love the onsen experience, you’ll love Enokiya Ryokan. And the front desk staff are super nice!!! Note: they didn’t offer half board on the days we stayed. I’d recommend doing the half board because trying to find dinner in Yufuin can be difficult. The staff were exceptional, friendly and very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable and to assist in any way they could. A special thank you to the chef of the Pub/Restaurant who cooked a superb meal for us when we did not have a booking, and to the staff who assisted and translated for us. It was one of the best meals we had in Japan and a fantastic experience. Thank you all very much. The location is excellent with views of the mountains and river, and car parking on site. It is very close to the beautiful shops which were fun to explore. The Onsen's were great and very clean, with indoor and outdoor options. We would love to return!

Exactly as the picture, whole Ryokan has good interior design. Very comfortable and spacious. Really enjoyed private Onsen located at ground level, home made breakfast was delicious. Next street is shopping street full of nice souvenirs and food. highly recommend this accomodation!
