This is a small intimate ryokan with exceptional service and facilities. The meals were outstanding and we really appreciated our lovely server. The rooms are equipped with Sekkei skin care products. The ryokan is situated just off the main tourist road but is quiet and serene. We would definitely return and I highly recommend this place if you are looking for tranquility but easy access to the main tourist spots. The meals are substantial (to say the least). The dinners were varied and we even got to try fugu!

The property is very close to the Yufuin main Street. The staffs are extremely friendly and nice. The most memorable experience of my stay was the breakfasts and kaiseki dinners, very dish were delish and meticulously prepared with the freshest ingredients.

Hinoharu Onsen is centrally located in Yufuin. It is tucked away on a side street just off of the main tourist avenue; easy access to everything without the noise. The kaiseki dinners and the breakfast were so delicious. The service was incredible, with lots of attention to details. The same attendant served all our meals and also took care of our room including serving tea , water, and dessert treats, putting beddings in and out. There are several onsens on premise: private outdoor, indoor, public outdoor. We were always able to access the onsens without any wait during our stay. None. We love Hinoharu!!

It was beautiful and had lovely outdoor baths. The room was spacious and the futon was comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and served with care. They were very kind to speak English with me. The location is right in the heart of the little shopping street and only a 15 minute walk from the station. Nothing

Excellent Location in the middle of cute shopping street with two museums within 3-5 min walk, pleasant to the eyes, and an easy along-the-river walk at the back. Yet, it is quiet and exclusive. But it is 12 min walk from train / bus station . Manageable on flat road with nice shops on both sides. Nothing really, except the Japanese Kaiseki full board meals are not as good as some other ryokans. The quality of fish / sashimi is average.
