We stayed one night at the end of a seven-day Kyushu driving trip, on a friend's recommendation, and it turned out to be the perfect way to round things off. Our traditional ryokan-style room looked straight out onto Mt Yufu — a spectacular view. Parking was free, and the hotel is walkable to Floral Village and Lake Kinrin. We opted for half-board: kaiseki dinner and breakfast were both excellent and beautifully presented, though honestly far more than we could finish. Great value for the quality. The in-house onsen was a lovely way to soak away a week on the road. A warm, well-priced traditional ryokan experience with stunning views, generous kaiseki, and a soothing onsen. We'd happily return. The hotel does feel a little dated...clearly grand in its heyday, but showing its age now.

Communication, check-in, and -out were smooth. We arrived slightly after 6 PM for check-in, so we contacted the hotel beforehand, but there was no problem. The parking lot has a lot of space. Staffs are nice and helpful. The onsen had no other guests around 9 PM during our stay, so it was great! But the water temperature was too hot to relax longer (coming from a person who loves onsen). Great view of the surrounding nature from the balcony!

Fantastic dinner and breakfast provided. We stayed 3 nights and the hotel provided 3 different dinner menus! The quality of the dinner was outstanding! Truly worth the high price we paid. Parking was ample. The Onsen was great, with both outdoor and indoor pools. The souvenir shop was closed, not sure why.

I like the welcoming tea. It was great with the dessert. Onsen was a perfect relaxation after a long walk. Hotel is close to Yufuin bus and train station around 7 min walking distance.

Booked Japanese style room. Room was slightly old but serviceable, very spacious. Onsen was good. No clear signs for hotel when walking from station, especially dark at night

A convenient location which is 10 minutes walking from JR station and the main shopping street. The Japanese style room is spacious with a beautiful view. The dinner was a Japanese full course menu and the food was delicious. The indoor hot bath and the outdoor onsen are good. For both dinner and breakfast, it is better not to pre-set the food on the table before guests’ arrival. There were a small spider in the room and three tiny insects on the bedding!

A little older than I expected and not really feel it meet 4 star. Facilities and rooms are quite old and some are broken.

Overall the Tatami room is comfortable and nice. The Onsen is good. Staff is professional and friendly.

The room is very pleasant for 2 people, especially for a couple I guess, the room truly makes me feel like I am on vacation. few minutes walk to the station so don't need to pay for luggage storage when walking forth and back in the town.
