The door between the bedroom and garden let in a lot of light when when closed (it is a paper door after all) which made it hard to sleep past 6am without a facemask.

The hostess was very attentive, and the place was clean, quiet, and cozy. The indoor hot spring was absolutely wonderful!

A beautiful ryokan situated away from the main streets of Yufuin. Even before checking into the hotel, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, giving us information about the area, while holding our luggage for us before the check in time. A staff member also speaks quite fluent English if that is something you require as well. The room itself was way larger than expected, and gave off a luxurious, but traditional feeling. The private bath in the room was also quite large and clean, and the larger bath outside was also very nice. Overall, a really comfy and relaxing place that I would love to stay at again! The cicadas and other critters outside at night were quite loud, so just a warning to those who have a hard time falling asleep.

If you want a quiet, cozy, and comfortable place, this is your answer. There is a friendly and very caring staff. Enjoy an onsen for yourself and your group. You will get a traditional Japanese-style house for yourselves. If we can get half board and breakfast, that would be best.

So many good things about the stay. Staff was hospitable and very accommodating to us and the two young kids we have. The kids loved it The location is easy to get to - pretty much middle of station to Kirin lake Close to grocery shops The private onsen was amazing. We managed to spend evening and morning in the onsen Would 100% recommend.

We absolutely loved this place!!! I honestly can't recommend it enough. Not only was the location perfect, with a great grocery store directly next to it, but the room itself was impeccable. But above all, the host/employees were 5-Star quality. They truly went above and beyond. I wish we could have stayed longer

Hands down the best accommodation I've ever stayed at, in my life. Staffing top notch, they helped with so much, explaining everything around/in the property and your room. They have maps of most of the town and recommend great food and attractions. They even help reserved a table for us! They speak good English! The rooms were superb, clean, and spacious, the private open bath was lovely, and we had a great view of Mt. Yufu, from our beds☺️ we will spread word about this place and definitely will return!

My first time staying in a traditional ryokan! The lady that greets us was very kind and explain to us in clear english. We had the best room ‘Sato’ with an amazing view and private open onsen. The room comes with everything you need and was very clean. The location is also not very far from the main street and can easily walkable. Totally recommended!! There’s really not to like. But if you’re not used to sleep on futon, your back probably won’t love it. The open shower is also a a bit challengin during winter, but still love the experience.

Very nice owner who helped us to make appointment for dinner. Suggested good restaurant for breakfast. Clean and tidy place to stay. Polite and helpful staffs. Provided us traditional kimonos with right sizes, enriched our travel experience staying in Yufuin. No.
