I warn against sleeping there. Following the instructions on Booking.com, I showed up at reception at 2:15 PM and was yelled at for the wrong time. Even after a few minutes of verbal argument, I was given a dirty, smelly room with no trash can and no internet access, despite the three networks offered. I have photos if anyone has any doubts. I understand that this is a hostel for backpackers guests, but at least a minimum level of courtesy and cleanliness is expected

I arrived late. Contacted the property beforehand about it and they didn’t reply. When I arrived there was no one at the front and no information on the door as to who to call. Luckily after I banged on the door for fifteen minutes another backpacker opened the door and let me in. Then the description isn’t eventually arrived and checked me in. The room was disgusting - sticky and dirty. The toilets were broken smelly and unclean. The tap in the room was broke and dripped loudly all night The room was cold and the whole hotel was loud. The carpet was ripped full of dirty stains and the whole place sort of smelled. I stayed here a year ago and it was a nice place good value for how much they asked. This is no longer the case. Wouldn’t go back.

Availability on the day of booking Being charged twice then not being given any support in gaining a refund. After multiple unanswered phone calls and 2 visits being refused a refund from staff.

Nothing This place should honestly be shut down. When I booked on booking.com and looked on other sites - the majority of photos provided weren’t even of this hostel. The photos that actually were, are obviously from when they first opened. Cleanliness… I doubt they even clean at all - filthy floors, dust absolutely everywhere, cobwebs, stains on sheets, black mould in bathrooms. I hadn’t even stepped foot in the common areas apart from the kitchen (cockroach infestation) as I didn’t even want to know how much worse it could get. Upkeep… Broken toilets, sinks, mirrors, cracked walls, torn carpets, AC units that look like they’re from the 1900s (don’t work). It’s got it all! Additionally it’s too noisy, the rules(the few that actually exist) aren’t kept to, can’t access the Wi-Fi and the dryer doesn’t work. Oh and they also don’t have washing lines so you have to hang your undies over the balcony. I tried getting a refund since we had left after just one night out of the seven we were supposed to stay for. They said I would have to speak to a manager, who wasn’t on shift so I asked they ask him to call me later that day. To my surprise - heard nothing. Tried calling multiple times, emailing, messaging and they are ignoring me. Unfortunately I am not able to say what I really think of this business and the people who “run it” as unfortunately this review will probably be taken down :) Don’t waste your money.

That I got to stay at a friend's house for 3 of the 5 nights This is not a place of Hygiene or security or even sleep. Their mattresses are old and collapsed. Their walls are paper thin. Their door locks and hinges are all compromised, the room smelt like weed. The mirrors were filthy and if you love a true and godawful health hazard then walk into their bathrooms with exposed wiring hanging from broken lights which are above the shower. The shower itself is a tetanus and athletes foot all by themselves with brown stains, tar black grout and mould just waiting to send you into hospital,. The kitchen had cockroaches and rats. The food storage area is cross contamination in a fridge just waiting for you to feel like a an atomic bomb of brown expulsion and their toilets are just as bad as the showers. This place needs to be shut down. Oh and whatever rules you think hey have about curfews and the like? They won't uphold them so be prepared to have a party outside your window until ram while you try to sleep with an aircon unit that isn't plugged into anything and has nowhere to plug it into.

There are cockroaches all over the kitchen

Position in the city. Close to public transport and coffee shops. Having to sleep in a room full of smoke. I'm allergic to cigarettes.

    Cheap

  • Engine customer Mar 2026

Everything was terrible. All dirty. Cockroach to everywhere. Fungi on the bathcurtains.

  • Engine customer Mar 2026

Nothing. The place was worn out and filthy.

  • Engine customer Mar 2026

Absolutely nothing The pictures in the ad are probably from the 90s. Starting from the reception, every corridor is just full of clutter and dirt. The kitchen is an absolute nightmare. The "social areas" are untouchable. We paid 124 AUD for a double room, which was dirty and probably hadn't been cleaned for a while, with a fresh pee mark and God knows what else on the toilet. We had to Hoover and clean the whole thing before we walked in. Doors and windows can't be locked. All the bins are full of questionable stuff. The place shouldn't be used as accommodation and needs to be shut down. We've stayed in a fair amount of hostels around the world, but honestly, I've seen better-looking homeless shelters than this.

You get exactly what you pay for

  • Engine customer Mar 2026

Shocking. The pictures are all from previous decades. Arrived into a fairly standard looking lobby, and of course asked to pay up front, only to be brought into a complete dump of a place. Mess everywhere. The kitchen was crawling with cockroaches all over the walls. Filthy everywhere else. Smoking cigarettes and weed directly outside rooms, and alcohol cans and bottles outside everywhere. Bedroom stunk of mould, humid, dripping shower, filthy bathroom, black mould on curtains, walls rotting from the shower, dirty old towels, God knows what else. How this place is allowed to operate and charge good money for rooms, I don't understand. It shouldn't even be allowed on booking sites like this one.

The people It was absolutely unhygienic and a health and safety risk in every possible way.
