nothing scary entry, no signs, lights at entry. no indication as to where/how to check in. lights didn’t work at entry. elevator out. no lights in corridor. touched what o thought was a light switch and it rang someone’s door. not really a hotel. but priced as such. way over price. no sound insulation. a truly frightening experience.

Very kind staff. Very clean room, bathroom, & kitchen. Nice big veranda. Kitchen was well equipped and user-friendly. The neighborhood is lovely- right on a train line, lots of restaurants, cafes, bakeries, etc. Nice residential area. Not necessarily bad things, just things to know before staying: guest house is on the 4th floor of a building with no elevator. 20ish minute walk to Torre de Belem, 10min walk, then 15ish minute train ride (not included in metro passes) to Alfama, the heart of the tourist center. Parking was tough to figure out, but it turns out there are two nice lots not too far away, but we didn't know that the first night and got stuck driving around.
