One of our favorite stays during our two week trip in PT! The location is unbeatable - it feels very secluded but it’s close to everything. Private beach 10/10. Best breakfast we had the entire trip. Relaxing but also great for the active. Views are great from everywhere, muito obrigada!

A unique hotel. Beautiful and peaceful place. The Oliveiras, father and son, are wonderful hosts. No car needed. Beach and several restaurants are all within easy walking distance.

Beautiful location and comfortable room. Our host was very helpful with excellent recommendations that made our trip special!

The location of the place is awesome, you can walk to a nice beach or do a hike around the cliffs that oversee the beach. The rooms seem freshly renovated and the beach furniture also seemed quite new or very well kept. The place is great for a calm and relaxed time, the host was very nice and welcoming and gave us a lot of tips for places to visit. The road to reach the hotel is a bit bumpy (just the last stretch to actually get to the hotel), easily done with a car but could be difficult to go around only by foot, so nothing terrible but to be considered.

Our host was very friendly and helpful - and relaxed. It was beautiful and quiet. Our room/bathroom was very large and very comfortable with gorgeous views of the ocean. It was convenient to lots of restaurants but away from the tourist area. You can hike down to the beach and cliffs in just a few minutes. Perfect!

We loved the beautiful views and spacious room. The bed was large, comfortable and had great pillows (which is hard to find in Europe!) The resort is very clean and housekeeping kept the room perfectly clean for our visit. The owner is so gracious and friendly and was so helpful. The rooms must be very soundproof because we never heard the other guests in the rooms next to us. We enjoyed a restful visit!

This property is a gem. The dramatic setting of this villa which has its own private beach and plunge pool overlooking the ocean, is amazing. I don’t think you can find many places like this in the Algarve. We enjoyed the tennis court, gym, and kayak rental as well. Highly recommend doing the 1/2 day kayak rental to visit the local sea caves and beaches to the east and west. You will enjoy staying here . Wish there was a little alcove to buy drinks, snacks.

Fantastic location for panoramic views on edge of cliffs looking over the Atlantic; five minute walk to stairs leading down to miles of public beach; eight minute walk to nearby ocean side restaurants. Individual room outside patio and enormous shared patios/pool area to enjoy fantastic views and wafting breezes of Atlantic. Spacious room and multiple common areas for hanging out. Most helpful and friendly hosts were on property for immediate access and response for any need or local advice on restaurants, things to do, etc. It was all great and most delightful!

The property is absolutely stunning. It is well maintained, the location is stunning. So many great amenities, and the owners, father and son, took such great care to make our experience great

Our stay at Foz Club was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Gonzalo and his father, whose kindness and hospitality truly made our experience unforgettable. The property itself is stunning — beautifully designed, peaceful, and thoughtfully maintained — but what really set it apart was the personal touch from our hosts. Gonzalo and his father went out of their way to make us feel at home, offering fantastic local tips and some of the best restaurant recommendations we’ve ever had while traveling. Every place they suggested was spot-on and added so much to our Algarve experience. It’s rare to find hosts who care so genuinely about your stay. Foz Club is a perfect blend of comfort, style, and authentic Portuguese warmth. We left feeling relaxed, inspired, and already dreaming of a return visit. Thank you, Gonzalo and family, for everything — you’ve created something truly special here! We didn't have more days to enjoy the area!! :)

My wife and I have traveled all over the world since the mid-1970's. We stayed here for 6 nights in mid-July of 2025. This is an amazing hotel unlike any other. It is a bit more expensive than some, but worth it. It does not feel like a hotel. The experience of staying here is best described as staying in a super-luxury mansion that is of such a size and configuration that there is limited contact with the other guests. The sea-view rooms are large and well-appointed. Ours opened to a huge deck with views of Lagos and the sea, The hotel is located in the heart of a nature reserve. It is only one of 3 residential buildings allowed -and the only one with public accommodations. As a result, it is very quiet and relaxing with a wide variety of birds. There is a small beach that is on two levels. The first is easy to reach and has the beach bar as well as several nice cabanas (no charge), and a view of the water; however, to get to the water requires a descent down a steep path and then climbing down two sets of sturdy wooden steps that are more like ladders than stairs. This descent was too much for my wife who is scheduling a knee replacement, but is doable for most. The beach is small (especially at high tide) but was never crowded (when all other beaches were packed). The view is amazing -as dramatic as those you will see on the "Seven Hanging Valleys Trail." It is technically not private by law, however, to get to it without crossing the hotel property requires a hike through the reserve and then a descent along some very steep and treacherous trails. There were a few "outsiders" (including some naturists) who did make that treacherous trek, but this does not appear to be common. The pool is on the smaller side but is on the second level of the building so it has very nice views. The proprietors are wonderful, friendly people. To be clear, we had NO problems with this hotel, however, there are two points others may need to consider. Firstly, there is a tennis court integrated into the structure of the hotel itself (and so not located at a distance). Judging from the overwhelming number of tennis trophies in the billiards room, the owner was a tennis player of some renown. I believe he may offer lessons, but in any event, there are "tennis sounds" which will sometimes (but not that frequently) emanate from this court (only during daylight hours). There was no yelling or audible speaking--only the gentle "popping" sound of a a tennis ball hitting the racquet and then hitting a return dummy. This did not bother us but it is worth noting. Secondly, there is limited food service at the hotel (breakfast is expensive and only by prearrangement, and there is only light fare at the beach bar). This means you will most often have to find other ways to eat. Since the hotel is located in a nature reserve, and we did not want to drive, it took as a while to find places within walking distance. We found 4 restaurants within 1/4 mile or less of the hotel door which the mapping programs (incorrectly) told us were about a 30-minute walk away, but were in fact less than a 10-minute walk using the dirt path at the hotel gate and then walking through the luxury development next to the Reserve. Three were on the nearby beaches that did require a somewhat steep descent. One (Maria's Pasta I think) was in the luxury development. None of these were open for breakfast. But there was a coffee maker and a small fridge in the room and a medium-sized supermarket next to Maria's Pasta (about 7 mins walk) that had everything you would need to make a decent breakfast or any other eat-in meal (including beer and wine). So we made our own breakfasts (and occasional dinner) and enjoyed a much nicer view from our deck than any breakfast place would have had.
