De L'Europe Amsterdam
About De L'Europe Amsterdam
Founded on the remains of a late medieval fortress, De L'Europe Amsterdam offers luxurious accommodations along the Amstel River, in the heart of the city. This 5-star hotel includes a fitness area, spa and wellness facilities and a waterside terrace. Valet parking is available at an additional charge. The guest rooms and suites blend a classic design, including a Carrara marble bathroom, with contemporary amenities such as Apple TV, A Bose surround sound system and motion detecting floor lighting. A nespresso machine and international adapters are also featured. Some rooms and suites offer a balcony overlooking the Amstel and historic center of Amsterdam. Dutch Masters replicas are displayed in each room in partnership with the Rijksmuseum. The iconic Freddy's Bar offers cocktails and gourmet snacks accompanied by live piano music. Both restaurants and the bar overlook the Amstel and the city center of Amsterdam. In addition, a luxurious wellness center, Le Spa by Skins Institute compliments the hotel. Luxurious body treatments and sublime skincare are offered using only organic ingredients under the care of professional therapists. The wellness center features saunas, a swimming pool and a fitness studio with 'technogym' cardiovascular and resistance equipment. Dam Square is less than a 10-minute walk away. Maybe they could add TVs as my suite has no TV and this is the first time ever I see a room without one. However I don’t usually use TV anymore

Amenities could include toothbrushes and toothpaste for such a high level hotel.

No complaints at all!

Ungraded to a 'bigger room' with a nice view of the canals. The 'light' in the bedroom was broken and all we had were 2 bedside lamps until we got a couple of floor lamps brought in, which gave some extra light but not much. The lamps in the sitting room were totally inadequate and visibility at night was appalling. Made worse by the jet black 'designer' couches which were ridiculously low and anything put on them were immediately lost to view when the curtains were closed. No TV in sitting room so you ended up sitting on end of bed in the bedroom to watch the News etc. The sitting room was totally unuseable. I wish the designer had tried using his 'design'! Bathroom/shower were well lit and fantastic. Incidentally the phone was broken and had to be replaced. That should have been picked up during room precheck when paying $1800 per night.

The property reeks of luxury and service! Bordered on two sides by a beautiful canal, this luxurious old hotel brings warmth to the souls that embrace her. Whether enjoying the ever popular fine dining at the 3 property restaurants, or a cocktail at Freddie’s, there is much to behold. While we thoroughly enjoyed drinks at Freddie’s, the signature Martini was a bit much for this novice. I did see a number of them served and enjoyed. So you might want to try it just once!

Excellent experience. The staff was beyond exceptional. This is the true Amsterdam.

De L'Europe is at the heart of Amsterdam city centre, at a walking distrance to the most significant destinations. Besides this, it is a very well maintaned institution that has been constantly improving by new additions over the years while maintaining its original ambiance. A hotel is just a building without a loyal staff. In this respect, De L'Europe is a perfect establishment with its very friendly, professional staff. Taking this opportunity I would like to thank Renee, Jordan and Kostas whose presence extending over many years make De L’Europe a home away from home.

Greatly renovated grand hotel in the center of the city. Rooms nicely decorated and equipped - bathroom with great amenities and marble finish. Spa department very nice with relaxing atmosphere. Staff amicable. Breakfast proper but nothing special. Strong grilled fish smell in the lobby during the whole 2-day stay. The ”courtyard view” was a pile of contruction structure - not quite worth seeing for over 500€… see photo. Could be nicer.

Property was beautiful in an amazing location. Large rooms and high end facilities We were unfortunate that there were hot water issues in the hotel for two of our four days. I felt that they acted quickly to rectify the problem but I believe a hotel Of this level should compensate you appropriately when you have not got water during the dead of winter. Nothing offered even after complaining at check out again
