Décor Canal House

The location of the property was fantastic. We were located right on the 9 streets and very close to the Anne Frank House. Even though centrally located, the place was very quaint and at a walking distance from all relevant places one would like to visit when in Amsterdam. The owner of the house also lives in the floor above and he was very friendly. We had a great time!

The location was perfect. Right on a canal and within walking distance to all attractions. It was like a studio apartment on the second floor. Had everything we needed. Fridge was partially stocked with beverages. Portable air conditioner kept the room very cool. Microwave heated up or leftovers. TV had premium channels like Netflix. It’s not the easiest to find. There is a tiny somber sign hidden behind a small potted tree. Also, because homes in Amsterdam are necessarily narrow, the stairs tend to be very steep. Fortunately I’m still in good enough shape to get up and down.

A clean and comfortable room with a kitchenette. Had everything we needed plus a lovely canal view and great location. It was a little noisy on the street with the window open as the canal is busy (hardly their fault!) and they provided ear plugs

Location is excellent. Near the 9 streets. Peaceful at night. Room is clean and has all the amenities needed. Host BP and Jonathan are very accommodating. They went an extra mile for my wife and I. We truly had an amazing experience. Unforgettable Stay. We'll definitely stay when we go back in Amsterdam. this place is homey!! There are no elevators or room service. I know what i booked so it's totally fine for me. make sure to read well before you book. You must carry your luggage on the steep stair case. No worries for me.

Stayed 7 nights here. Location was great with short walking distance to Dam Square, Royal Palace. Room was cleaned mostly daily. The lamps above the bed on both sides were not working. Jonathan, the Manager came to change them 2 days later. The room heater was not working properly, it stopped in late night and the room became very cold. Informed Jonathan & he provided us with a Dyson heater which made our stay much more comfortable. The stairs are very narrow and steep, so getting up and down daily is a challenge especially when handling on arrival & during departure of our luggage was tough for seniors (78 & 70 years old) like us.

Location was fantastic Pictures showed a different room. So the room we got was different. There was a smell from the bathroom it was not pleasant. There is no luggage storage which was not explicitly communicated before booking. Only told after confirmation. For a non refundable room, that was very disappointing.

The location was perfect, communication was spot on and the room had everything we needed. Unfortunately although there is a kitchenette, there is no oven or hob and we had bought some food to cook so had to make do with the microwave.

A perfect place for our city break. Beautiful view of the canals out of the window! It was very light and the bed was very comfortable. The ear plugs were a good touch but it wasn't too noisy - apart from the church bells which were lovely! We enjoyed breakfasts at De Hoek just across the canal and at Blushing near the museums. An excellent location, 20 minutes from the station and the museums. We would definitely recommend this place to others and use it the next time we are in Amsterdam. Nothing!

The place is so cute, such a great view and location. The mattress was very comfy. Water pressure in shower was good. The complimentary snacks and drinks were so nice. The bed pillow was so terrible. Impossible to sleep on. And the bath robes provided, I think are for children

Clean, stylish, warm, comfortable. Excellent location - gorgeous canal views. Brilliant communication from the owners and apartment was cleaned and tidied during our stay (which was an unexpected delight) when we returned one day! Super, super stay. Highly recommended. The only very, very slight issue was that we couldn’t get the shower to work at a bearable temperature. Try as we might it was either boiling or scalding! We just ran baths and added cold water to get a reasonable temperature - which was fine. A bit noisy as the windows were not double glazed but there were earplugs supplied so obviously the owner was aware of this issue.

Very comfortable. Great location, but 10 minutes walk away from tram stops. Plug for the wash basin.
