The location was great and staff were excellent The only downside it can get quite noisy. If your room is near the lift you hear it going all night and you hear alot of noise from outside

*Afternoon free wine and snacks is great. Breakfast was good and good variety. Location off Dam tram stop is good. Shower was good. Bed was confortable. Upper floors are accessable by elevator. * Did not like the "black" hotel room. Light switches were not always obvious. Price is pretty high.

We had a wonderful stay at The Highlander Amsterdam and would definitely recommend it, especially for families and anyone looking for a comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The location is absolutely fantastic. The hotel is right in the heart of Amsterdam, within easy walking distance of Dam Square, Amsterdam Central Station, shopping streets, restaurants and many of the city's main attractions. This made our stay extremely convenient, particularly as we were travelling as a family. Another highlight was the staff. Everyone we met was genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Their warm attitude made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. A very nice and unusual bonus is the complimentary drinks available from 12:00 noon until midnight. Guests can enjoy beer, red and white wine, Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, water, sparkling water and other soft drinks free of charge. Being able to come back to the hotel after walking around Amsterdam and simply sit down and enjoy a drink was something we really appreciated. The rooms were very comfortable, the shower quality was excellent, and most importantly, we slept extremely well. Despite being in such a central location, we had a very good quality of sleep. Another thing we really appreciated was how quiet and peaceful the hotel was. Despite its very central location in the heart of Amsterdam, we experienced no disturbing street noise, which made our stay and sleep even more comfortable. Overall, however, we had an excellent experience. Fantastic location, wonderful staff, comfortable rooms, great showers, excellent sleep quality and the complimentary drinks are a huge plus. We would happily stay at The Highlander again on our next visit to Amsterdam. Highly recommended! If there is one area where we think the hotel could improve, it would be the breakfast selection. The quality was good, but we would have appreciated a little more variety and a wider choice of food.

Nice breakfast. Nice bed. Very small rooms. Not even a chair to sit down on. Only room for two suitcases and that is a stretch. .

This little hotel was quite a surprise. Right in the heart of the city, fully airconditioned with well appointed rooms with really good mattresses on the bed. The all day complementary snacks and drinks were an unexpected bonus. The staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. We stayed only a night but will use this as our base next time we are in Amsterdam. Nothing - it was a great stay.

The staff was helpful and very friendly. The hotel has complimentary drinks and snacks in the Lobby throughout the day. The location is very quiet but very central. The bed wasn't very comfortable, the room's outside panel didn't work and couldn't be fixed when we where there.

The room was very comfortable and the bed so very comfy! The breakfast was delicious! The lighting is a bit dim.
-
Was lovely, modern & central The room is extremely dark. The bathrooms are particularly dark with very poor lighting. Room was a little dusty and could be better cleaned.

Great location, small and compact hotel but it’s quiet, comfortable and great value for money. The staff are friendly and the free bar is great for a cold drink after walking around all day. Breakfast is everything you need. Nothing, we loved it all

Staff were excellent. Free snacks and bar was a nice touch Rooms were well designed and cosy but a touch small

The hotel is centrally located next to a tram stop near the main train station. It features very modern décor and appears to have "smart rooms" (light switches, A/C, music). The beds were very soft, which I appreciated. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. As is so often the case with "smart technology" (especially Bluetooth), I couldn't play music on my iPhone. Communication took place via smart AI chats - which I actually think is great - but the chat has limitations. There was no answer regarding how to call another room, for example.

Great location, comfortable beds, and a nice shower. We also appreciated the complimentary snacks and beverages available throughout the day. The staff was friendly, and the room was comfortable for our family of three: a couple and a 17-year-old daughter. The only downside for us was that the shower in our room doesn't have a "proper door". It's enclosed with glass and located in a more private area, but it's still not completely separated. This might be a bit tricky for families with more kids or for groups of friends. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay none
