Comfort Inn & Suites Ankeny - Des Moines

Bathroom could use a refresher on walls. Lots of scuffs. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning was not pulling out humidity. Dresser draws did not stay shut.

First room: No security lock, fire alarm hung down on its wires, food left in freezer! Ick! No more rooms - they are filled - we said not going to happen - They gave us another room. Room 2 - Dead Bolt Lock didnt match up so DID NOT WORK - REALLY! Said no more rooms would have to stay here - had 3 small kids 2 female adults - later in evening - night clerk said she would ok a refund for the problems - later said she would not give because we stayed there. We were never told refund for not staying- refund was for the lack of security and no other rooms is what we were told! This is not a good Hotel it is very unsafe - They do not hold up to security standards - very scary! Not sure how they even got a star ranking as nothing had been fixed! Worse yet was their customer satisfaction. They do not care about you at all! Not your safety not your satisfaction! They do not know how to handle a business. I do have pictures to prove it all!

I suggest more coffee in the rooms. 2 tiny cups are just not enough. Couldn't get the TV to work. Remote wouldn't change channels or anything.

The front desk lady was very nice, and the room was a decent size. It has a bad smell when we first got to our room, the bed was hard, and it was a little over priced

Room felt damp even with air on. Staff was very nice. I really wanted a waffle but they weren't working properly. I couldn't wait as we had to get to the hospital. Parking was very convenient!

Very basic but clean and have your usual continental breakfast. The location was very convenient with lots of restaurants nearby.

Clean, comfortable, and economical. Would stay again!

The hotel was adequate

The breakfast was okay. There is no longer a whirlpool/hot tub in the pool area. The pool is not heated, which was ok since we were there on some of the hottest days of the summer. The hotel is right off the interstate, which was very convenient and it wasn't far from other things in the metro area. Our rooms were on the end closest to the highway, but were couldn't hear any noise from it.

The breakfast at the comfort inns used to be better.

Staff was friendly and my room was spotless. I could not hear any noise from other rooms, always a plus. The biscuits at breakfast were very hard. The gravy softened them a bit but not much.
