Hotel-Garni Elbgarten Bad Schandau

We were very impressed by the level of care and profficiency the host treated us. He and his family were very nice and helpful. Upon arriving, we realised that included in the city tax or tourism tax was a subscription on all public transport means within the national park area and honestly we did not expect that. At least we never encountered this anywere else. The beds were so soft and comfy, breakfast was excellent, an absolute german classic which for me means top quality. Room was super spacious and had a balcony. The bathroom looked new and very clean. Cleaning was done every day. And we really went to so many places with the public transport. I mean Bad Schandau in general is the most touristy place in that area and transport was perfectly syncronized and wr had a great time visiting everything in the area. It's the best place to stay.

Comfortable stay

Great accommodation, decent breakfast (nothing fancy, but everything you need in the morning to start your day) and a very lovely owner that always helps with all your requests. The location is also awesome with Lidl just down the road and all Saxon Switzerland spots available within a day's hike. Spoiled tourists won't like the cold breakfast that mostly has a selection of bread, cheese and various types of ham/salami as well as youghurts along with some cooked eggs. However, it is more than enough to wake you up and prepare for the big hike you're planning for that day.

The hotel owner offered us a few ideas for hikes - and then drove us to the starting point! Standard continental European breakfast (unremarkable).

We loved it. It was comfortable, had character, and suited all our needs. The room and balcony were large, and the bathroom was plenty big enough. the bed was very comfortable. The best part was the staff, who were extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. the pillows could have been nicer

Oh. My. God. First of all, the host is amazing. He is very very kind, and though he doesn't speak very good English, he does his actual best to help us, the customers. On breakfast, he checks on us twice, and asks if we are enjoying our breakfast. He is a man with an extremely big and open heart. It's honestly - undescribable how big of a heart he has. Rooms are simple, but very nice, and big enough, and have glasses to drink water. Very calm atmosphere, and once again - the host was just amazing. The hotel might not be luxurious, but the service, host and rooms compensate for it, and even overwhelm. And one more thing - the WiFi is a little bit slow, but works just fine for any task.
