Hostel Bongo

Great location. Great staff. Your man running the show is an art history major and his knowledge of history and advice on things to do is top notch!! Hostel is great - clean, facilities are good, bed comfy - AC broke and wasnt the end of the world. Found out it may be closing in a few months...really too bad, because it's that good!!

I had a great stay at Hostel Bongo in Belgrade. The hostel was exceptionally clean, and the social atmosphere was outstanding, making it easy to meet other travelers and feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The manager and receptionist were both excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to creating a comfortable experience for guests. The hostel truly felt like a home away from home. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Belgrade. n/a

There were some people who seemed to have been staying long term in some dorms. I think they should all be put together and not mixed with transient tourists.

Good location & instruction to get to hostel. Clean. Absolutely zilch atmosphere. If you’re in a basement room, wifi is just ok.

The people make all the difference here! The staff are not only kind and welcoming, but they also create such a warm and family-like atmosphere. The hostel is cozy, clean, perfectly located for city center, and full of good vibes. This was my second stay at Bongo, and probably I will choose them for my next visit too. ? Honestly, nothing at all. Everything exceeded my expectations.

It’s time to renovate the hostel, starting with the bathrooms and then moving on to the rooms. The entire complex has a lot of mold.

The staff is amazing. Very helpful and friendly, The property is high value for money, perfect location, all facilities available a traveler might need for short or long term stay. Home away from home. Couldn't think of any.

Nothing. It was the worst hostel I have ever been to. I don't recommend this place. There are a lot of other hostels in Belgrade, so please don't waste your money. ● Nearly everything is broken. One of the shower rooms lacks a ceiling type shower head and a prop that holds the showerhead, which makes shampooing tricky. The drying machine was also broken, and people who work here refused my laundry request despite the fact that I only needed my clothes to be washed. Plus, one of the bathrooms' lights is broken, making it completely dark when the door is closed. Just fix it. It doesn't take that long. I can't understand why they just leave it. ● They really need to divide the guests into long-term and short-term or teach long-term guest etiquette. They are super disturbing. They use the room like it's their own property. They piled up their belongings in a small room. I had a limited space to use. Also, one of the long-term guests acted like he is the boss of the room. When I opened the window since the room was super humid, he yelled in Serbian and immediately closed the window. What's even funnier is that this greedy old man uses small personal fan only for himself. He has his own fan to stay cool, but he stops others from opening the window. He even occupied two plugs and a chair. ● After the first night, the housekeeper cleaned and touched my stuff without any notice in advance when I was not there. And then my personal stuff was missing, so I had to claim to the staff to find it back. I have never seen the hostel cleaning my bed just for two nights, with any notice before. The housekeeper just threw my stuff away on others' beds. What if they dumped my stuff? Who's going to take responsibility? They really need to educate the staff again. ● Considering the cost, it's just not worth it. A lot of things are broken. The room was in the basement, so it was super humid. The mattress was uncomfortable. The common area is too small.

Extremely clean & modern. Right in the heart of the city and next to many cool spots, bars and cafes. The staff members are overly nice and really nice to spend time with and will help you with cool recommendations. Highly suggest this hostel for your stay. The vibes are what they should!!!

Hostel Bongo is without a doubt the best hostel I have ever stayed in. I had no idea what kind of hostel family I would meet before coming here until I met Tamara, Senka and Dushan. They are truly the nicest hostel family you will ever meet in Belgrade. They take care of everything here, cleanliness and attention to guests are at the highest level. In their kitchen there is always a cup of coffee and many different herbal teas ready for you...

The staff. Tamara is amazing. She’s so nice and makes the place feel homey. She let me use a private room when I had a call for work and even refunded me for an evening when I had to leave a day early (no one has ever done that, so kind). This place is the best! Nothing

Everything was really good, staff is so nice! Perfectly clean, common area is so cozy especially now with Christmas decorations. Owners, Dusan and Tamara have so good recommendations what to do and what to eat.

Location was ideal, close to everything Would have been nice if the bunk beds had curtains and blanket was a bit thin.

Location is cinty center. You can go walk everywhere. Tamara and Valentine is very helpful. Hostel is clean.
