Amazing location with onsen is on the roof with the view on the bay and park, walking distance to train station and the bus stops. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, every day different, local cuisine. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed for 3 nights Nothing

Hotel room is clean and outdoor onsen is fantastic. The hotel is a little bit far away from the station, but it’s still acceptable.
-
I booked a sea view Japanese style room and I am so happy! The view is stunning, staffs are professional. Dinner and breakfast are served in Japanese style. A bit far from train station but walkable. Nothing.

Excellent and beautiful location, facilities, services and staff attentiveness. It's right on the sea and located in the middle of many great tourist and shopping spots. The rooftop onsen overlooking the ocean is a great extra. The only complaint I had is that the breakfast is extremely Japanese. This is not a gripe about the breakfast itself. The quality and quantity were fantastic. It's just that I'm American and I think certain non-Japanese people will probably be a little off-put by the type of food, which is very traditional. AS Japanese food it's terrific so again, this is not really a complaint but a personal preference. Also there may be a traditional Western breakfast at the other restaurant I'm not sure.

The room was good, providing an amazing ocean, park view that is unparalleled with a traditional tatami mat-type sleeping style. The onsen's inside and out were lovely. The breakfasts and dinners were definitely worth experiencing (and you'll want to have your phone cameras ready for that). The in-room tea and cold water were lovely touches. As 'western' sleepers, we prefer an extra futon mattress under the bed mat, but only one futon was available in-room the first night. To the hotel's credit, they managed to find more futon's for our other two 'beds' the following nights. This would probably not be a problem for local sleepers who like a firmer sleep, but extra futons available in room would go far to help us foreigners who need a little more padding! The Hotel itself is starting to show it's age (hence our lower comfort and cleanliness scores) but if you're looking for a high value, more authentic experience, it would be difficult to find better.

It shows its age, but its clean

Great Room, decent dinner and breakfast
-
A classic Japanese ryokan. Oldschool but clean and quiet. We got the futon and it was super comfortable it was like sleeping on clouds. Food was good too. Breakfast could have been a little more protein since there were too many side dishes
-
Private onsen room was spectacular. Also having a traditional room and meals made the experience special and was a wonderful entrance for our first night in country. Although we loved the EXPERIENCE of the traditional meals, we just couldn't make ourselves eat the breakfast. That's not the hotel's fault, just letting travelers know to be prepared!
-
sea view and garden plus walkway by the sea can run along the sea a bit old
-
Room seaview is very nice. Breakfast and Dinner is very good No
-
Lots of parking space right next to the hotel. Great breakfast and dinner. Lovely sea view from the room. There was live flute and piano every hour or so in the lobby, in the afternoon and evening, playing nostalgic tunes. Great outdoor onsen on the roof. There's a large Donki nearby to get supplies. Location is a little further from the main attractions of Beppu, but with a car this shouldn't be a problem.

Rooftop open air hot springs is excellent

The room with the sea view was so pretty! I'm definitely glad I picked that because it was a very nice view. The room itself was traditional japanese and that was great. The futons were laid out after dinner for us, as usual so that's always nice. The dinner and breakfast were good! Went to the rooftop onsen at night and in the morning. It was a very nice experience at night because it was too dark to see anything in the water. However, in the morning, the onsen was filled with stuff floating in it which was gross and offputting, so I did not stay in there very long after noticing that.

Excellent staff members and great delicious food ? extraordinary hospitality.
-
He sea view of the room is very relaxing. Dinner is adequate for the price. There is bathtub in the room, although the tub is very dated. The hotel is on the main bus route. Quite convenient from the station and the Hell Onsens. Very crowded during the breakfast time. We had to wait in a line for about 10 minutes. Room is dated, not well decorated.
-
Great Kaiseki meals ( dinner & breakfast) Onsen bath was not hot enough and floor & tub button were slimy. Not scrubbed regularly.
-
Our sea view room has very nice view. The delicious dinner has very good variety and quantity. Our server Yoshida did a great job and took time to explain everything despite being very busy. The cost per night is good value with 2 meals included. The hotel is a bit dated.
-
Spacious room with nice view. Amazing dinner and breakfast. Polite staff. Authentic feel. Staff could've been more attentive at the meals that we didn't know what we were doing and some dishes that were over flame at the table got overcooked. Sometimes the courses felt rushed.

Our room overlooks the sea. Breakfast and dinner consisted of a variety of dishes but the food is of mediocre quality. As our room is just opposite the staircase leading to the rooftop onsen, we could hear guests talking and laughing loudly on their way to the onsen in several occasions.
