Sens Hotel & Vanne Bistro Berkeley

The folks at Sens Hotel were so helpful and kind. I canceled one room on Expedia 48 hours before, but it didn't show up as canceled for Hotel Sens', or on Expedia for that matter. Sens canceled the room on their end, then Expedia showed the upcoming refund. The folks at Sens were very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely go back. The hotel is right in the middle of North Berkeley's foodie row.

Great value and all you need in an excellent location. Comfy bed. Some nice touches. Well recommended.

I think if cost is your main concern, you will have to forgive the lack of polish but you would benefit from the central location. Outside the hotel, I noticed each morning a coffee klatch of locals that meets there regularly and support the cafe. It gave it a friendly vibe, and like any favorite haunt, I'm sure there many who are happy with it, just the way it is.

Simple, clean suites with balconies. Coffee at the cafe’s not bad, either.

We are always so touched by the personable staff and service when we stay here. It feels like visiting friends. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We will always choose the Sens first when coming to town.

This is a conveniently located boutique hotel in North Berkeley, not far from Central Berkeley and UCB campus. I stayed here to see a show at the Greek Theatre and it worked out well, it’s a 15-20 minute walk (much easier on the way back as it is more downhill). The room was well appointed with the usual amenities (shampoo, soap, hair dryer) and a few nice touches (a toothbrush/toothpaste kit if you happened to forget yours, a stool in the shower). No parking onsite. I parked in the next door grocery store lot to check in and put luggage inside. Then I looked for street parking, which I found a few blocks away. Most parking in the neighborhood is limited to two hours during the day, but I arrived about 5:30pm, so I was able to park once and fit in the two hours before the daytime limit ended at 7pm. One needs to move their car again by about 10am before reaching the two hour limit in the morning. It worked out for me but could be a challenge if you are looking to leave your car in one place all day. Staff was friendly and helpful. You get a free coffee in the morning from the cafe and there is tea and hot chocolate in the room.

The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. They provided free coffee tickets for all morning of our stay. The room came with a patio.

The room is OK, smaller than I expected. The carpet should be changed, too old and dated.

No parking. Seems ridiculous for a hotel to not have parking. Should have emphasized this and given options.

I was unhappy with the fact that this property has NO parking. You need to park on the street and because it is a busy area it was hard to find parking.

The room was very clean it was really convenient next to the market the staff was very helpful the parking I don’t know was using uber to get around
