Overall nice stay. Staff was courteous and rooms were nice.

This was move in week at UCB, the hotel had the cutest sitting area in the lobby for families to take pictures with perfect themed "my first day of college" decorations, so thoughtful. Also, shout out to Alex in the Zino restaurant!

As always, the staff was attentive to our needs. They accommodated our request for an early check-in.

The window cannot completely close

A nice older hotel that’s been maintained, but isn’t fancy. The room was a bit cramped - the king size bed was essentially against the wall making it difficult to get out and didn’t have enough space for a bedside table. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a good, economical spot in downtown Berkeley.

We enjoyed our stay! The hotel is walking distance to the Greek Theatre and lots of restaurants. The room was clean and spacious and the staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

AC didn’t work

Historic hotel in downtown Berkeley with lots of restaurants in easy walking distance. Great restaurant and bar in the hotel with an outstanding selection of unique cocktails.

Everything was great! It was just a quick trip, but the location was perfect and very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is just so beautiful and we had a great stay. I have been here two different times and each time the staff has been so nice and helpful. We stayed in 2 different rooms which was fun, but this time we had a real small room with a very small shower. But it was fine since it was so unique. I would definitely stay here again.

The central Berkeley location was convenient and made it easy to get around. Housekeeping and communication were consistently disappointing. Despite requesting cleaning and leaving the room from around 11:15 a.m. until after 8:00 p.m., I returned to find it unserviced. When it was eventually cleaned, the sheets were still not changed. I had to contact the front desk at least three times before they were finally replaced. At check-in, I was also promised a room change next day, that never occurred and apparently had not been arranged.

Excellent location to be close to university and Restaurants and bars. Lovely old world charm from the lobby to the rooms, rooms were good size and bathrooms nice. A couple of things could use a refresh like some hall carpet, but overall very nice, The staff was friendly. Also, usually able to grab overnight parking on the street, but parking is available as well,

Superb location. Old timey vibe, and unlike other 'old timeys' the bed and amenities were top notch. Class vibe. The bartender Kelly was chill and funny. Recommend

The sofa bedsprings were hard and unavoidable and sofa mattress old and doesn’t accommodate 2 people like advertised. Dirty, old carpeting in halls and room. Needed to wear slippers in room to keep feet clean. Wish there was wooden floors to mop/sterilize after every guest because Berkeley streets are very dirty from human waste and that gets transferred into hotel room floors.

Close to Univerisity of California, Berkeley

Great location, very nice staff. Unfortunately, some noisy repair work drove us out of the bar. If you’re in Berkeley, it is a very central location.
