Reviews

Historic and well maintained hotel in the heart of Berkeley.
-
The hotel was lovely, very clean. The only down side was the lack of outlets in the room, there was only one outlet in the whole room, but I guess thats to be expected in an old building such as this one. Otherwise, no complaints. We had a lovely stay.

Gorgeous historic hotel that is impeccably maintained. Fantastic staff. Delicious breakfast. Lovely patio garden to sit and drink tea/coffee. Can’t wait to return.
-
One of the most beautiful buildings I've ever slept in. The continental breakfast was awesome.

Looking forward to staying again

Exceptionally beautiful rooms - the whole building is a delight to see. The dinner we had at Julia's was delicious and wonderfully presented, it couldn't have been better. The room, though perfectly comfortable and adequate, did not live up to the quality of the rest of the building. However, given the available size of the rooms I doubt that any major improvements are possible and as I said, the room is adequate to the purpose.

Superb breakfast buffet. Bar menu very good with coupon at check-in for free drink with food. Charming room.

The building is historic and interesting, the rooms are simple but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious, with quiche, gluten free options, etc. the lounge was also very cozy and chill. Did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant, but it looked good. Would definitely stay again. Very vintage vibes, very picturesque. It was easy to find parking on the street. Lots of shops & restaurants in walking distance.

Everything was lovely. Beautiful building, nice room, excellent continental breakfast. I will certainly stay here again if I can. Only suggestion (may not be possible) a small fridge would be nice. But loved it from first to last.

I really wanted to visit this hotel when I first discovered it and it did not disappoint! It was so cool to stay in a historical landmark. Learning more about Julia Morgan was so fascinating. She lived a fascinating life. She was one of the first woman to be a licensed architect in California and design 700 buildings including homes! The main attraction for me was the pool. When I heard she had designed Hearst Castle I knew that I just had to swim in Berkeley City Clubs pool! I had such an enjoyable time during my visit!
