The Rowan has a lovely home from home feel to it, and was instantly greeted by the warmest of welcomes I came with a few requests, and nothing was an issue! The breakfast was great and set us up for the day. I even got to try the haggis! Going to bed was lovely too, the room was spotless and the bed sheets smelt amazing! Thank you Maddie, John and Jeff The stairs! But that’s most guest houses in Blackpool and can’t be helped. If you’re a little agile then request rooms on the lower floor. I’m sure John and Maddie will be very accommodating and help as best they can.

Location was good. A quieter area but close to tram stop. Breakfast really good and care given to special dietary needs. Owners very friendly and do everything to make stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel clean throughout. Supplies of drinks in bedrooms each day. Family room was good size and comfortable but unfortunately on second floor. A number of stairs involved. We were however informed of this before hand.

Really friendly and clean hotel would recommend this hotel to friends. Breakfast was excellent. And rooms are really clean and location just outside Blackpool Centre which is very quiet but that’s what we were looking for. Definitely will stay there again.

The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The hosts were amazing. Maddie and John are so accommodating. They take the kids on like they are family. The breakfast is great with a very wide selection of food including cereals, pancakes and cooked breakfast. The bar area is amazing and very cheap. Perfect for families. There is karaoke, games, magnetic darts and a small pool table for the children. There is a tv in the bar that I enjoyed watching while the children played. The hosts go out of there way to ensure you have everything drink wise in your rooms. Water, coffee, milk all given without hesitation. I wouldnt go anywhere else now in Blackpool. We will see you again at some point in the near future. Nothing.

I stayed at The Rowan Hotel for the Blackpool Dance Festival, arriving several hours before the official check‑in time. I only expected to drop my bags, but John welcomed me with such warmth that I immediately felt at ease — and to my surprise, my room was already prepared. After hours of travelling, this felt like a gift. I was able to rest properly before the show, and I was genuinely grateful. The room was immaculately clean, spacious, and beautifully comfortable. The bed was cosy and perfect — exactly what you want before a long evening at the Winter Gardens. The location was excellent: right near the centre, with the tram stop literally across the street, which made getting around effortless. Throughout my stay, Maddie was exceptional. She made me feel welcome, comfortable, and genuinely looked after from beginning to end. Her hospitality is warm, natural, and sincere — the kind that stays with you. Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared, and served with the same care that defines the whole experience. Every detail felt thoughtful. This is the kind of place where you feel both at home and well cared for. Maddie and John create an atmosphere that is personal, warm, and friendly. I couldn’t have been happier with my stay, and I will absolutely be returning. Highly recommended. Thank you, John & Maddie.

Perfect location 2 minutes to the tram stop and beach. Comfortable room. Cosy lounge with bar, the granddaughters loved the karaoke and the atmosphere. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice and the homemade pancakes much enjoyed. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, booking direct with the hotel can save you money. Nothing.

Very friendly and accommodating hosts, couldn’t do enough for us. Ideal for what we needed and really went out of their way to make sure my dad was well looked after, including making him an early breakfast 2 days! Thank you so much

We had a really great stay and would definitely return. The breakfast was fantastic — a full cooked breakfast with bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato, hash brown, black pudding and even haggis, plus toast, cereal, juice, tea and coffee. Plenty of choice and very filling. The location is ideal, situated at the quieter north end of Blackpool, with a tram stop right at the end of the road. The owners were really helpful and told us about a great value tram ticket — £10 for a full day covering two adults and three children, which we made great use of. The hotel also has a small bar which was very reasonably priced compared to other places locally. One evening we ordered a Chinese takeaway and ate in — the hotel kindly provided plates, napkins, and cutlery, which made it much more comfortable. Most of all, the hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really made the stay special. Would definitely recommend and will be returning. Honestly, there wasn’t anything we didn’t like about our stay. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. The room was quite warm for our personal preference, as we’re more used to sleeping in a cooler environment, but this is purely down to individual taste rather than a fault. The only other minor point is that on the walk from the station we passed a few run-down or empty properties, but this is outside the hotel’s control and not near the hotel itself. Overall, nothing negative to report — we had a really enjoyable stay.
