The location of the hotel ix exceptional, the staff is friendly and ready to help. The breakfast is good. The installations need renewal. It is a pity that a Hotel with this history is lacking mantenance.

Everything, clean, with space Restaurant buffette

Big pool, but outdated facilities. The suite they gave us was old, it smelled and rain started coming in one of the mornings and they didn’t change us until the second day to another suite.
-
Beautiful grounds. Beautiful property. Close to beach. Great swimming pool pools. The rooms are a little past their prime. A bit tired.
-
The place has great historic value The picture of the pool is completely misleading - all is dilapidated, there was only 2 very uncomfortable pool beds. The room do not have a hairdryer
-
charming architecture, right next to the beach, very nice pools the bed was a bit hard and creaky and on the weekend you could hear some noise from the street

What a grandy lady the Hotel Mocambo is. She shows her age but keeps her beauty. The movie stars may be gone but, hey, who says you can't pretend to be one? Every window, every room, every hallway transports you to the past. If you can't overlook some broken tile and signs of age, there are chain hotels waiting for you a few blocks away, soulless, corporate, and bland. The care and effort put into the Mocambo still shows through. Check out the wood work. Does the Marriott have that kind of craftsmanship? Spotlessly clean and held together by a wonderful staff, the grandy Lady of Boca Del Rio welcomes you to her house to dream. For anyone scared of the Oyo branding, there are none of the usual signs of despair I associate with that brand. I wish one of the bars was still open. Also it would be nice to have more information about hotel services and it's history provided in the room. Oh, and coffee. No coffee maker in the room. A cup of Veracruz coffee was needed to sit on my balcony and watch the sunrise

The location is exceptional. Walking distance to the beach and delicious restaurants!

The Mocambo is one of the great old colonial style hotels in Mexico. It is WHY we stay there. It is culture and art. It has character. I like the sprawling atmosphere and view of the ocean. We didn't eat at the restaurant this time but I remember, from the last time, that the food was good. Breakfast was OK. I noticed that the room/s (414) we stay in have been remodeled. I noticed that the old palm beams have been replaced with steel I-beams. Great!!! The shower and the vanity are modern. BUT they don't work well. The shower is great but it doesn't drain. In ALL architecture, form follows function. Expensive and fancy are no good if they don't work. The TV literally sizzled. I don't know if there was an electrical short or what. There were limited channels. OK, we're not there to watch TV but we stay to catch a flight. I can see that the buildings need repair. Prime and paint the railing and walls. It needs maintenance.

Beautiful beach view, quiet retreat in the city. Lots of stairs - no elevators!
-
It was very beautiful an amazing breakfast in the morning loved all the pools and just overall loved the architecture All the stairs lol and that there wasn’t many ramps so I could easily move around
-
It needs a good bit of updating on the outside but that won't stop us from coming.

I did like the breakfast offered. However, some of the food could have been better prepared. The staff was exceptional. The hotel itself is a classic. I could tell some of the areas were not frequented often. But I could also tell the hotel was maintained to the best of the staff's ability. Some of the visible signs of age could be addressed. I know this type of work takes manpower. It also has to do with the high level of humidity since this is by the sea.

The rooms we obtained had been recently renovated and were clean. All the facilities are very old and need heavy maintenance to bring this hotel back to life. Not worth the price.

Nothing

The room was comfortable and spacious. The restaurant staff (servers) were rude, and the food wasn’t great. The floors of the outside pools is damaged.

Good

Mmm, a suggestion might be for the hotel to turn the matteresses because most people sleep the right side of the bed. Put in some vending machines for late nigh convince.

This is a historic hotel and it's well taken care of. The indoor pools are amazing and the gardens are beautiful. Staff was super friendly and always willing to help carry things, they gave us a new room when requested, so If you are staying here make sure you get a room close to the lobby and pools. Only complain would be that since this is an old hotel, there's not many accessibility features. Not recommended for old people or families with babies. Imagine going up and down 10 stories to go from your room to the lobby. Also furniture is really old.
