Colorado Chautauqua
About Colorado Chautauqua
The Colorado Chautauqua National Historic Landmark sets itself apart from other Boulder- Colorado destinations as an oasis of respite- rejuvenation and enlightenment. Located 43 miles east of Denver and nestled at the foot of the iconic Flatirons- the Colorado Chautauqua has over 40 miles of open space and hiking trails for visitors to enjoy. The historic Pearl Street Mall and the beautiful University of Colorado campus are nearby - within a leisurely stroll or short drive. Open daily year-round- the Dining Hall offers a full bar with local beers and great wines to complement your meal. Savor spectacular views from the enchanting wrap-around porch while enjoying fresh- Colorado bistro cuisine at breakfast- lunch- and dinner. Originally visitors slept in canvas tents with wooden floors. Simple cabins replaced the tents and over time those cabins have been renovated into cozy cottages- each with its own unique history and historic charm. While no two cottages or lodges are alike and may include curiosities such as antique or Arts and Crafts furnishings- claw foot bathtubs- or fireplaces all accommodations are television and phone-free to allow guests to relax and unplug. Choose from Missions House Lodge- Columbine Lodge and 58 cottages to meet your accommodation needs. Pet-friendly and pet-free accommodations available. Cottages are available in studio- 1- 2- or 3-bedroom configurations- each with fully equipped kitchens and screened-in front porches. All cottages are equipped with whole house fans to take advantage of Colorado natural nighttime cooling. For those that prefer air-conditioning- each cottage is also equipped with a portable air conditioning unit. As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability and to reduce our energy and water consumption- daily housekeeping services and fresh linens are provided upon request.

I always stay here when in Boulder. Perfect if you have a dog.

We loved our stay! The cabin was clean and conveniently located. Amazing views of the flat irons and delicious meals at the Chautauqua Dining Hall. We will be back!

Delightful stay at Chatauqua. Room was basic with a fun, retro feel and a nice kitchenette. Very clean. The surrounding beauty and history of Chatauqua makes for a perfect, relaxing setting. The food at the restaurant (both dinner and breakfast) was also great.

Beautifully charming place to stay. Favorite on the whole trip. Close to town and a fabulous view above town as well.

Great location. Food was delicious. Cabin felt comfortable and was a time warp back to simpler times and well needed .

Fantastic place. Comfortable and quiet and right by trailheads.

This is our 3rd time staying there and we love the friendly staff and set up of the place. Our room was small but it was fine for a long weekend. We ate dinner at the Dining Hall and the staff were exceptional and the food was good and reasonably priced. We love that place and hope to stay there again in the near future. It’s a gem in Boulder, Colorado.

Love starting at Chautauqua Cottages. The retro styling is fun, the proximity to the beautiful Flatirons, hiking and the auditorium and everything Boulder is wonderful.
-
The first night we were there Boulder received about six or more inches of snow! The next morning the crew was out plowing the roads and even shoveled the pathway to our door.

Just a lovely experience, our cottage was charming and the peace and quiet was exactly what we were looking. The dining at the lodge is delightful. I recommend staying here over and over again.

Such an amazingly beautiful and peaceful location!

Great cabin. Perfect location. A true Boulder experience. FYI, there’s a lot of construction going on in preparation for being a Sundance venue. There was more noise and less parking than usual. So, plan accordingly.

Love staying in the cabins - nice and quiet - close to hiking and an easy walk to Pearl street if one wants to

Fantastic place to stay!

Parking was very difficult. Cottage was musty smelling and needed some repair. Heating vents were rusty and not cleaned well. Every time someone ran water it sounded like a weedeater or yard blowing was running inside the kitchen closet.
