La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Brunswick/Golden Isles

After we checked into the hotel we noticed that the elevator inspection date showed there should have been an inspection in June of this year in other words 2 months ago. We found that there were buttons on the elevators both the exterior and interior that did not work for example the button to close the door on the interior didn't even have a button covering it just had a bolt. Wonder what would happen if a little kid got curious and stuck his finger in that hole. The bathroom in our room had a very strange toilet paper holder it appears that somebody boosted him or herself up using the toilet paper holder and it is partly dislodged from the wall. The first morning I got up and was preparing to take my shower and the shower control came off in my hand I couldn't figure out how to fix it so I ended up with a lukewarm morning shower. We spent the day touring around and when we got back we found that a room had not been serviced the trash had not been collected the coffee supplies have not been replenished we didn't expect that the linens would be changed or anything extensive like that but at least they could have emptied the trash. The last day of our stay I was in the kitchen area fetching my breakfast and noticed a cockroach on the floor scurrying around. Rather ruin the appetite.

The bed was pleasantly softer than what we have had in other chains. The room was clean and a fairly good size. We had a king with sofa bed.the room air conditioner worked well . The buffet breakfast was standard fare but actually tasted better than any I have had so far. Perhaps because it wasn't overly reheated and tasted fresher. The cheese grits (stone ground( were a pleasant surprise. There were several outdoor features we did not partake in as the weather did not permit. The only real negatives would be the dismissive attitude of the morning clerk when I asked her to repeat something I could not understand that she said and the fact that the weather continually disrupted the Direct TV service

Room and property clean, however one of the bedside lights was not working. When I reported it to the manager, they just made a note so I wouldn't get charged for damages, but made no effort to fix. Also one elevator out of service, which meant a wait with luggage for an elevator when checking out. Was not ideal.

The location is very good in regard to I95 access and restaurants. Lobby is welcoming and the room was clean. Breakfast was sufficient to get a person on the road.

Clean and comfy!! We have stayed here twice now when we are in town for the St. Simons market at Postell Park!!

The hotel was very clean . I loved our room . The breakfast was amazing. The front desk ladies were excellent. The only thing it was lacking for me was , nobody came in the room and picked up trash ( the trash can was tiny ) or changed the towels out . I had 4 teenagers with me and we got 5 towels for 2 days . Never even made up the beds . Everything else was excellent!!!

Great spot to stop after a long travel day. Very clean, good breakfast, and the parking lot is very well lit!

As soon as you walk in you’re greeted with the scent of cleanliness and I absolutely love that! The staff at the front desk was friendly, knowledgeable. The room was extremely clean and very spacious with a microwave and refrigerator even a sofa bed. The pool area was beautiful, clean and even had complimentary towels. The hot breakfast was great and saved us from having to try and find a restaurant to eat. I would definitely stay here again!

On the downside, I stayed in room number 328, it turned out to be a flop as I had a waterbed, and it really sucked. Each morning I woke up hurting. The room was not the cleanest. On the upside, the breakfast was great, the property itself looked good, one of the front desk, clerks could have been nicer. It doesn’t make you feel good when you feel like they are doing you a favor by letting you stay there. In the past my rooms at La Quinta in Brunswick, Georgia have always been outstanding. All in all if you stay there, it would be highly recommended, however, Avoid room 328… that is unless you like that kind of thing

Enjoyed my stay and just off the I95. Room was clean, and the people and staff were pleasant.

The staff at the desk was quick and efficient. As far as property the door entering from the rear parking lot exit bar was taped so no security there and the side door towards the pond the card reader doesn’t work and didn’t the last time I was there 4 months ago. As far as the room something was on the vinyl floor. Looked like a dog pissed. The carpet was pretty stained and the couch had cigarette burns in my non smoking room. We have stayed here for several years and every year it gets a little worse.

Our room had no hand soap, no switch for the bathroom vanity light, very dim room lighting, a large hump in the floor and the protective wrap had not been removed from the TV.

Dogs barkrd most of the night both nights, kids running in the hall way and it sounded like someone wrestling in the room above us, too much noise. There were no bath towels in the room, we had to ask for them. We stay at La Quintas from time to time, this was the first time we were disappointed.

Everything was great! Everyone was very nice and professional. The room was very clean and comfortable.

The staff was awesome. My only comment is they need to update their bar and their offerings. Not everyone like Budweiser or IPA’s.

The hotel itself was clean as was our room on checkin, but our room did not get cleaned while we were there. The first day was our fault because my husband stayed in the room sleeping but the second day housekeeping just didn’t come. When I called to ask about getting someone to clean the room I was told housekeeping was gone for the day and I could go to the front for towels and trash bags. Other than that the hotel was nice and staff were nice.

There was plenty of parking that seemed very safe. We were close to lots of eating establishments and gas stations. It is also very close to 95… easy to get on the highway but not noisy or visible from the hotel. Our hotel room door did not have a striker plate, so it was a bit disconcerting. Two buttons in the elevator had been broken out and were taped back on. We also had difficulty adjusting the air conditioning. It would be helpful to have directions if the system is not intuitive.

Pillows had hair on them. Needed to change rooms.

The property is not that old but there was a unkept look and feel about it. It served it purpose which was to rest for the night. Not sure of the receptionist name but she did an amazing job considering it was a holiday weekend. 4th of July to be exact and she was the only one there. I believe I left some jewelry in my room but was never contacted by anyone about finding it.

We were satisfied with our stay. We used it as a home-base, a place to sleep. Didn't get a chance to use the pool. Breakfast was good. Would have appreciated a late check-out though.
