Loved the breakfast. Smaller courtyard than it looks like in the photos. I didn’t swim bc I was only there overnight but not sure I would’ve.. very small and felt like it was in the lobby. A dip maybe.

I have stayed at El Rey twice already and not sure what is it, but I really enjoy the vibe there. Its an old hotel, but still well maintained, the treat seems more personal, you can get a Massage and the breakfast is good, too. Nearby - a nice italian restaurant, solid seafood, ADO station and a supermarket. I will be back :) Nothing. Depending on your expectations, of course. But if you are looking for something close to the center/ADO that is not a chain - El Rey is great. When I enter, I feel I am back 30 years and Cancun is still a small city, el Rey must have been a top small hotel back then!

The location of this small hotel is central and the decor was so inviting and relaxing! They made a real effort to provide a green oasis in the city. Front office staff is very fluent in English. Our room was spacious, and I loved the small kitchenette. A delicious breakfast was included. Breakfast was a busy time and there could’ve been a few more hands on deck.

Nice swimming pool with jungle setting. Good value of breakfast. Nice staff. Good location. Too clouded at breakfast time around 7:30am. Some mosquitoes in the room. Because lots of tropical trees around room.
