Best Western Plus Capitola By-the-sea Inn & Suites

The room was very clean and the property was well-maintained.

Great location. This is our second time staying here and we enjoyed the stay. Only one complaint we were on the first floor and one morning we could hear staff talking in the hallway very loud, although we were in a quiet zone. We mentioned it the front desk and it never happened again. We would stay again.

The location is close to several restaurants and coffee shops, not to mention a mile or so from the beach. My only complaint is simply a personal one. The bathroom light is on a sensor switch and comes on when triggered. For me personally, having a bright light come on in the middle of the night can keep me awake after. Again, just a personal thing. The caulking around the tub could use some attention but that seems to be a pretty common thing amongst motels/hotels. Overall a great stay !!

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. The air conditioning was quiet and at a comfortable temperature. There was plenty of lighting. We could not figure out how to get the show on t.v. that we wanted to watch, but did not request help from the staff.

This has all of the makings of a great hotel - convenient location, nice pool, big rooms, friendly and helpful staff. However the bathroom was dated and could use a deep clean, there wasn’t hair or dirt but there was some rust in the shower and the worst part was the non-functioning bathroom fan - it was hot and unpleasant when sharing with famiiy. The red of property looked to be well maintained. My family and I really enjoyed the pool during our downtime.

Conveniently located, very quick check in, nice touch with the home baked cookies, room in reasonably good shape, base boards could have been touched up, shower head was about 14" from the wall and about 4" from the ceiling. When you turned it on it blasted you in the face. You had to walk through the spray to get to the toiletry s. Full breakfast was a buffet, mediocre at best.

Convenient to Capitola village. Free parking was convenient. Man on the desk was helpful and polite. Kids enjoyed the free cookies on arrival. View from our room was of the bins and our room was not cleaned on the second day. We stayed there 2 nights. The breakfast was poor.

Pool and hot tub, free breakfast, friendly front desk We were on second floor and folks above us made alot of noise during nighttime.

Wonderful experience, the staff was friendly and prompt, room clean and comfortable, breakfast good variety and hours. Felt very comfortable and welcomed for my whole stay here, I would definitely return again.

Clean! Some staffs are grumpy not so friendly.

Located close enough for a short drive or a vigorous walk to and from the esplanade -- my wife and I (mid 60s) walked it 4 times in 3 days. Amenities include a nice outdoor pool and spa (which I visited every evening, using pool towels offered by the front desk). There is a larger than normal and excercize room and a guest laundry available. And a much nicer breakfast than typical, with greater selection and a bit of variation from day to day. In total my wife and I were very pleased with our choice, and expect we will stay here again when we return to Capitola in the future.

The towels were quite rough and there was minor cleanliness issues in our room just some crumbs by the bed before we got there, some rust in the bathroom. Also the sink faucets are just super close to the counter but not really something you can help I guess. Overall we love best western and will always stay here!
