Beach Terrace

An excellent property. Excellent staff and location. I will be back. Nothing

The room had such a great view and we were so close to the ocean.

Beach Terrace is located directly on the beach and also has a large pool. My friend and I were able to park right across the street from our room and check-in was easy due to the pleasant and expert staff, who gave us restaurant recommendations. Although we were in the building closer to the street, not the beach, our room faced away from the street and we could see the water from our balcony. We could hear the sea, but not the folks passing our room, as the door is set back into the building and the bathroom is on the street side. We shared the large bathroom (huge walk-in shower, plenty of counter space and separate toilet stall) and each had a comfortable big bed. Lots of clothing storage, and beach ponchos and towels provided. We had a sitting area with sofa, coffee table, two armchairs and an ottoman, plus a balcony with a comfortable sofa and table. There are coffee- and tea-making supplies in the room, but we just walked the very short distance to the lobby each morning, picked up coffees and a light breakfast and ate on our balcony. The food was good, and creative: a pancake PBJ sandwich, for example! You can also order from an array of hot and cold dishes at an extra charge and have them delivered to your room. Everything we wanted to do was within reasonable walking distance. We had one of the most amazing and imaginative dinners of our lives at Lilo (book well in advance!), worth the considerable cost. We spent one day just exploring the shops and restaurants of Carlsbad Village, and can recommend lunch at Nick's (don't miss the asparagus fries). On our last full day, we had lunch at Taisho Sushi and dinner at El Barrio, both very good -- and ice cream at Handel's! A wonderful weekend. The only nit I need to pick is that the cleaning crew dropped a cherry pit on the bathroom floor on one day and left a towel lying on the pillows of one of the beds on another. But that's very minor.

Beach view; excellent staff

I absolutely love this property! Beach view and and easy walk right on to the beach.

From Payson Arizona, we came for 40th anniversary, and we couldn't have picked a better place. We had perfect view of the beach and ocean and pool. The staff was awesome. And almost all you need in walking distance. A lot of variety of restaurants around. And breakfast at Beach Terrace was super with a variety of yogurts, fresh fruits, danish, egg sandwiches, and juice. Perfect for starting the day. A big shout out and thank you to all of you for making our anniversary so special and memorable 💖.

Location is excellent - right on the water. Close to great shopping and restaurants. Continental breakfast provided great healthy options.

The original hotel that I booked had ants in the room, and when I looked for another property to stay at last minute, I found Beach Terrace. It was certainly a major step up, and I couldn't have been happier that I got that lucky. This will be my go-to hotel whenever I want a nice, relaxing beach stay.

Fees

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good. The architecture of the property was amazing. There was a pretty ocean view. But you have to walk a few blocks to get to the beach.

We had the most amazing stay here! Perfect for the whole family. We can’t wait to come back.

Chairs umbrellas breakfadt. No free parking

There are a lot of great things about this hotel but a few things made it less perfect. We arrived early (11 am) because we were going to brunch in the area. The front desk girl was very nice and had us do all the check in paperwork and said she would let the cleaners know we were here so they could expedite our room cleaning. She said check in was guaranteed by 4pm but she would text us as soon as our room was ready. We checked back several times during the day since we didn't receive any notice and were told no. We were on the beach waiting, it was a few minutes before 4 and I started walking to the front desk. Exactly at 4 my text went off saying our room was ready kind of crappy since you have to be out before 11am. Our room was nice and big but when we went to sit on our balcony it smelled like dog urine. I suppose someone left their dog out there to urinate all over the couch and floor. You are only allowed 1 parking space per unit for $30 if more they have to find street parking. That being said the location is awesome, little continental breakfast was nice, chairs, umbrellas and beach toys were free to use. You can even ask for a special pillow or brunch to be brought to your room. We will probably give them another chance but it is pretty pricey.

I loved having the beach chairs and umbrellas put up for us everyday and the kind gentleman who were always there when we had questions.
