Motel 6 Carlsbad, CA - North

Clean rooms easy access off freeway.

The room was clean and the landscaping was neat. Freeway noise was manageable. Beds were comfortable. No shampoo or extra towels. Pool was cold. Some nomadic folks slept in the parking lot. Nothing wrong, but wouldn’t refer friends.

Overall, a very nice stay at a nice Motel 6. The room was very clean and spacious. The only drawbacks are that it is very close to the highway, with lots of traffic noise. The air conditioner is also noisy. That said, I would stay there again.

Always large, clean and quiet rooms with excellent pillows and beds. Best staff ever.!!

Stay was fine , one of the nicer Motel 6 I've stayed at. Lighting inside the room needs work other than that I would stay again .

It was clean and staff were great. It could use some upkeep, our TV didn’t work and the shower leaked. But since we were pretty much only there to sleep and shower. It worked out.

Not a lot. It’s clean. Very very noisy (freeway). No breakfast - no nothing. Very sparse. Ok to sleep if you r tired. Close to everything

This was the second time staying here and both times it was very clean. Nothing. Loved it all

Great vibe! Not like a typical Motel 6. Usually motels have something weird about them. Not this place! I felt so relaxed and comfortable The property is maintained beautifully. The staff are so kind, and go above and beyond. It’s close to the beaches and cute shops and cafes. I would absolutely stay there again!

About the only i can fault them on is small light weight bath towels. Everything else was excellent

Staff was great and rooms were clean

I read a lot of good to excellent comments on this Motel 6, and thought I’d give it a try. But, you get what you pay for. Motel 6 is still a low budget accommodation outfit. Had a room furthest from the freeway, but you’ll still hear cars passing by faintly. The AC system in our room drowned out most of that noise, as it cycled the pump on and off to push the AC thru the system… which just means you’ll have another noise issue to deal with, if you lean more on the Light Sleeper side of things. Bed was average, fridge kept things cool, not cold. Parking area felt safe, staff was polite. If looking for a more affordable room and can handle some outside noise, as well as a noise AC system, this hotel is doable.

Room was a great price compared to other hotels in the area. We loved that it came with a fridge and microwave. The room floor was super dirty, our socks where black after walking on the floors. The bed was hard and not comfortable. The front staff was business only, no greetings or thank yous. The cleaning staff were very friendly.

Exceptional

The room smelled like smoke. Not enough pillows. No blanket for the bed. Rate was high compared to the room received.

I like this Motel 6. However, last night they put me next-door to two yapping dogs that were in pet friendly room that woke me up at 4:30 with the dogs yapping and then again at 7 AM

This property was nice. A lot of freeway noise. It was convenient and near restaurants and shopping and a short drive to Legoland.

Normally they would have lost a star for the incidents that happened while I was there but the way they handled it is why they still got full stars. First there was a hair and two of the towels folded into them but they were super apologetic and replaced them right away. More than likely they had gotten stuck to the towels in the dryer it's not uncommon so I wasn't about to freak out. The second thing is I extended my stay and it didn't update in the system so they were able to rebook my room and it was awkward when somebody let them self into my room and was super confused why I was in there. But again they were super apologetic for the oversight and the delayed system update. Honestly all kinds of things are going to happen but it's how the staff handles it that makes all the difference. Wonderful staff and they cleaned exceptionally well during my stay so I will definitely go back.

Location of the hotel was walking distance to the gas station and grocery store Room didn't have shampoo, body wash, or tissue paper, just a bar of soap
