Courtyard by Marriott Charlottesville

Everything about my stay was really good. The only thing was, my sofa armrest had a large oily area. I cleaned it myself. Everything else was clean. The staff was amazing. I would still stay again.

The room was clean and quiet, only stayed one night. I would stay there again the next time I am driving through Charlottesville.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Property was clean. Gym was well out-fitted. Value was good! Location was a bit remote and hard to walk around to local places. We couldn't find a safe way to walk across the highway to get to waffle house when we woke up at 9:30am and breakfast was closed. Shopping mall nearby was closed and deserted.

Staff was very helpful at check in and got me to my room quickly for a great night’s sleep.

Clean room, everything as billed. Paid for parking, paid for breakfast. Pricey for what you're getting (and the paid parking is a gouge). Would look harder at other hotels in the area before staying again.

Excellent service

The only issue I had was with checkout. The employee on day shift said that staff was available 24 hours a day. When I went into the lobby at 4am to checkout, the employee was in a back office. When she finally came out, she wasn’t wearing shoes and she wasn’t wearing a name tag or any type of clothing to indicate she actually worked there. She was irritated that I was bothering her and told me I could have just left the key cards in the room. I told her that wasn’t what I was told when I had inquired about early checkout. She repeated that I could have left the key cards in the room, then turned around and headed back to the office.

The comforter was quite heavy which added to this problem. Evening staff were excellent. Airport shuttle driver was wonderful. Morning front desk staff were rude.

Very, very expensive for an older, so-so place. Almost $300 a night and no breakfast?

Staff friendly. Parking plentiful. Room size good. Like that sink area outside shower / toilet area. #1- location is a bit awkward.... next to a deserted mall on "Fashion Square Dr." #2- EVERY room has motion detection lights in the entrance area and the sink area. If you use the toilet area during the night these lights automatically come on, flooding the room with light. Disturbing to any partner that might still be trying to sleep during the night. Not a fan.

The room was clean and spacious. There were several hidden charges which disturbed us. The website says breakfast but then two cups of coffee and two microwaved breakfast sandwiches cost us $30. As I reviews my bill, I saw I was charged $10. A night for parking. WT actual F?? Very disappointing.. we travel often and just recently began using Marriotts. NEVER AGAIN will we stay at a courtyard.. we are in a Townplace Suites by Marriott today and what a difference. The rooms are like little apts, complete with kitchen , plenty of closet space and FREE full breakfast. And the base room price is about 40 less. Ridiculous! NEVER AGAIN..
