Staybridge Suites Chattanooga Downtown - Convention Center by IHG

Once in our room, we got the kids ready for the pool, walked down, and there were signs that the pool was closed. When we went to the front desk, there was a sign that said the pool and hot tub we "out of order." We did not see anyone working on it. The room we booked was supposed to be a King Bed in a 2-bedroom suite with a kitchen. We got 2 "Queen" beds that felt smaller than our queen bed at home. The kitchen did not have a single pot or pan to use the 2-burner stove. The fridge did not cool properly despite being set to coldest. I turned on the ice maker as soon as we got in and the ice maker mad 1 piece of ice the whole time. The breakfast was good. Room was clean. However, one time we entered the room, it smelled of w33d. When we woke up Sunday morning, the living room area just smelled off, and the hallway smelled the same way. While sitting in the courtyard outside after breakfast, letting the kids run around since we couldn't go to the pool, a man at the other end peed in the bushes and waved to us

Staff was very nice and helpful, Everything was immaculately clean, Room looked brand new and clean. It was nice to have a full kitchen with everything you'd need for cooking a great meal. The breakfast buffet had hot fresh and very tasty food. We loved this hotel and plan to use Staybridge suites downtown Chattanooga every time we come back to the area.

The bathtub was extremely slippery, and the water took at least an hour to drain. No one checked or serviced the room daily, so our garbage continued piling up. When we tried calling the front desk, the phone rang more than 20 times. We eventually hung up and tried again, and only after several more rings did someone answer. The room also had a strong musty odor that became even worse whenever the air conditioner was running. The only solution offered was a can of air-freshener fogger. Since we were traveling with two small children, we did not feel comfortable using it. We initially chose this hotel specifically for the hot tub and pool, only to discover after arriving that neither was working. On a positive note, the breakfast was good, and the breakfast area was clean, organized, and well maintained. Unfortunately, the room’s poor cleanliness, maintenance issues, lack of daily service, musty odor, and unavailable amenities overshadowed that positive experience.

A bit run down, not great service

I had tried to reach out to this property with a question about parking via Hotels.com, phone, and via Staybridge email. I never received a response. Upon check in, lady at desk told us that hot tub didn't work (and that hotel had no intention to fix), front doors didn't work, parking gates didn't work. Our room door was ajar when we first entered and there was blue tape on our dishwasher. We tried to call the front desk only to discover that both phones in the room didn't work. We went to reception and asked about the dishwasher and were told that almost all the dishwashers in the hotel didn't work but that a technician was finally in the building and he would fix ours that week; that never happened. Wallpaper coming off walls, carpet in hallway ridging up creating tripping hazard. Elevator almost always had dirty floor. Breakfast was repetative and not at that great. Social Hour was decent. It was nice to have a washer/dryer at no cost. We discovered that we only had 2 forks and limited kitchen utensils and asking for more resulted in front desk person saying that guests steal them. We had to insist on getting enough to get us through. Dirty dishes were found in non working dishwasher. We had booked through Hotels.com and were treated like 3rd world guests because of that. This was even obvious and brought to our attention that we went through Hotels.com at check in. I had given leeway to poor reviews but unfortunately found that poor reviews are valid. Location is great.

We had a great stay and it was right across from the Chattanooga Convention Center, we were there for a show at the center, so that was very good for us!

What i liked with our room was it's a suite, like a condo. We are 7 and all of us together in 1 room but with separate room(wuth 2 queen bed & the other was king bed) with sofa bed in the living room including dining & kitchen(complete with utensils & cooking tools). Each room has a bathroom but our room with 2 queen beds there's no shower head. Although we can still use the shower but cannot adjust the pressure. Also the dishwasher the water is not draining completely. The water sits there in the bottom. Complimentary breakfast fresh & hot except the coffee only warm even their water. They're not hot not sure if that's their policy. Not only during breakfast but any given time midday, evening or even night. Good location. Already reported = missing shower head and dishwasher not draining completely.

Location to attractions Non smoking hotel but we smelled smoke every night and alerted the staff. Hot tub out of order.

Exceptional

Room was uncleaned. It smelled like mildew has been growing for years. Stains on the wall, broken closet doors, light fixture in bathroom was so dim that it was dark inside of shower. Couch/furniture looked like it has been there since 1980. Couch was fringed/peeling/old/stained. The floors for musty. Outdoor patio had mildew all over the cement from AC unit. Lobby smelt like mildew. Pool was closed and paper signs of do’s and dont’s all over the lobby and front desk. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!

Pool wasn’t available for use. Breakfast needs more variety. ie sausage gravy, biscuits and bacon. Fresh pastry and potatoes besides sweet potatoes.

Quiet, was a nice area. Will definitely be back. Was disappointed that the pool and hot tub was closed. Otherwise the sta was great.

18.00 a day for parking is ridiculous . State, City, County taxes. Can you think of more ways to tax people staying there

Location, breakfast and the evening reception Maintenance to the room while we occupied it. For a longer stay we needed a way to be in touch with housekeeping for new towels and toilet paper. The hot tub was broken the entire time we were there.
