Clean rooms, nice showers, quiet hostel Found it difficult to get good recommendations on places to eat/things to do here. Had to seek advice elsewhere.

We stayed in both the 6 & 4-person mixed dorms and had no issues and felt very safe as two young women. There is always someone working both day and night if you need assistance or have any questions. The bathrooms and common areas were kept clean, the rooms had working AC, and the beds were quite comfortable. Thunderbird is located in a fantastic area in Old City. It’s adjacent to a market, restaurants, coffee shops, 7-Elevens, and a 5 minute walk to the Tha Phae Gate where the Sunday night market is. The women who run this hostel are extremely kind, attentive, and hardworking. I will definitely be returning here next fall. Kap khun ka!!

I went back for second time already!!! Just like it there so much super relax after long day of travel. And for sure if I go back to Chiang Mai I will stay here again Nothing

The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming! She even told me I could come back anytime to take a shower if I needed, which made me feel so comfortable and cared for. That kind of hospitality is rare and really made my stay memorable. The location is also excellent everything you need is close by. The night market and nightlife are just a 10–15 minute walk away, so it’s easy to enjoy the city without needing transport. Overall, I felt very well taken care of and would love to come back again :) nothing

The hostel design was very aesthetic, and the location incredible - easy to walk to all kinds of places in Chiang Mai. Check-in and check-out was easy. The room and shared bathroom were very clean. The shared bathroom was usually out of toilet paper, and the overall hostel environment felt abandoned. We would have loved more of a community feel and the communal spaces being used and/or any community events. Also, we found the room AC to be incredibly effective to the point that it was irritating our throats.

The Thunderbird Hostel is really a great place to stay in Chiang Mai. The service is excellent and it is very clean with plenty of bathrooms. The neighborhood around Thunderbird has to be the best in old town Chiang Mai and why would anyone stay anywhere else in this beautiful city. Even the beds are comfortable, which is kind of rare for Thailand. I really liked this hostel as did all the other guests I talked to Nice place for sure

Very good value for the price. Clean and comfortable stay, close to the market, easy to find food. The meatballs at the market entrance are delicious, with long queues. A short walk to explore the city. The staff is friendly and provides excellent recommendations for tourist attractions. Recommended for young adults. Elderly guests might not enjoy it due to the stairs.

I had a fantastic stay at Thunder Bird hostel in Chiang Mai. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile to make sure I had a great time. The common areas were clean and inviting, perfect for meeting other travelers. My dorm room was cozy and had everything I needed. The hostel's location was also great, just a short walk from the night market and many other attractions. I would highly recommend Thunder Bird Hostel to solo travelers and backpackers looking for a fun and social atmosphere.

The staff was really friendly, the room was very big and comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the location was great. There is also a cafe and restaurant on site which is convenient. Closing times are a little strange, they close the hostel at night so you need to call them to open up if you're out after 10, which isn't terribly convenient. Breakfast is also included but it's just toast so don't get your hopes up.
