The location was convenient and the price was not too bad. This is a no-frills hotel with small rooms (at least my room was small), pretty basic.

There's a refrigerator, it's clean, and the pillows and mattress are good. The blanket is thin, so I think it'll be cold under it in the winter. Personally, I missed having a coffee machine in the room.

Exceptional

The breakfast was good value for ten euros. Beds were comfortable. No lift up to top floor (4th). Desperately in need of a refit. No kettle or cups in rooms, very hard to believe it was a three star hotel.

15 minutes walk to the main area. No lift!! Room was on the 4th floor. This was not mentioned on booking.com, the receptionist seemed to think it was! No air conditioning, although the facilities did say hotel has heating no mention of air con so this was my oversight. When we asked for a fan we were told I’m new here I don’t know. I had to ask the receptionist to call someone, it was a very hot day. A fan was located but we had to carry a big pedestal fan up 4 floors with our luggage and I have mobility issues so this is something that guests should be made aware of at time of booking. The auto email sent by the hotel also doesn’t mention that there is no lift. The room was tiny with a very small double bed. They could not change this to a twin bed as hotel was full. Very tiny balcony, only wide enough as the width of the chair. Overall very uncomfortable stay. For €149 a night I expected a bit more. Pay a bit extra and stay somewhere else.

Passable

I was very impressed with the hygiene! Everything is perfectly clean, the floors are spotless! And especially for such a low price, it was just quite unexpected. I'll definitely be staying more in this hotel when I come back to Köln again! Nice room and atmosphere, nice shower. The bed is also great. The room, for the price, is perfect. I had to fill in a paper form when checking in — mind-blowing in 2026! Shouldn't that all already be in the system? And they also asked to pay in cash. Good that they warned about it a day before on the Booking, so I was able to find physical money. Again, what is this in 2026? But that's just nit-picking. It was just a minute and I'm not bothered by it, it's just funny.

Very good location, just 15mns walking distance from the train station Staff at the desk very friendly! The woman there couldn't speak a word of english but she tried hard. She made our stay!! Very affordable breakfast (10 euros) and very good Comfortable beds Was very pricey for the -poor- level of equipments but it was a special week in Koln (carnival). So i guess all prices went up.
