The staff gave me an upgraded Room upon arrival, which was really appreciated after some travelling delays etc. The Room was very clean and quiet and it had a Kettle and a Fridge, which were great to have after busy sightseeing days! The location is also excellent for its proximity to the main Train Station and Dom! I had a fight with the Pillows almost every nightas they were so uncomfortable! However, I do acknowledge that they may suit other people, just not for me!

Good location, lovely breakfast selection and a fun robot cat waitress to take your dirty plates away. Nice room with a partial view of Cologne Cathedral. Could also only enter the lift with a room key which was a good security measure. Had tea making facilities but staff seemed reluctant to provide extra teabags and milk sachets.

During my stay at CityClass Hotel am Dom, I was impressed by the excellent rooms, which were very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and always willing to help, and both check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. I recommend purchasing the early check-in option, especially for guests arriving by train around noon, as it makes the start of the visit much smoother. The location is superb: almost next to the Cologne Cathedral, one minute from the main shopping street, and about seven minutes from the iconic bridge. Breakfast was decent and tasty, and I especially liked the funny robotic, cat-looking dish picker that added a unique touch to the meal. Overall, I would happily stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

Great sized room with lots of storage, great shower and comfy bed. Excellent location for exploring Cologne and really helpful front desk staff. Would certainly look to stay here again if we came back to Cologne. The aircon took a while to fully cool the room - we had to leave it on full blast for over 24 hours before really feeling the benefit. Might not have been an issue normally as you could feel it was on but it was also in the middle of the European heatwave so stronger aircon would’ve been preferred!

My first impression was very positive: the hotel seems to have been recently refurbished, the room was clean, the staff were nice. I would have described my room as a “sweet little room”, were it not for a couple of unwanted guests which I found in my bed (see other comment). Just as I was ready to hop into bed after my evening shower, I noticed two critters on my bed: one, an adult, scurried away, and the other – probably a nymph (baby) bed bug – met its end there and then. I presented its body as evidence at the reception. The immediate question was: “Did you open your window?” (interestingly, an identical question was posed by a different staff member at check out; is the problem so common that the staff have been instructed to use a template as an answer???). No, bed bugs don't fly. I was next told that the hotel was full and that I could not be offered an alternative room. In other words: I was expected to go back to my room and offer myself as dinner for the critters. When I requested alternative accommodation at a different hotel, I was finally led to a room which was probably out of use: it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. It was otherwise clean so I spent my night there, with the light turned on, just in case. No critter appeared. Apparently, it was an inferior room to that for which I had paid – but it had two pillows and a fluffy duvet, which the original room was lacking, and, most importantly, no bugs. Bed bugs are a serious problem and may pose a health hazard. I did not request compensation, nor did the hotel offer any, but if other guests have a similar experience - it will mean that the hotel is failing to take appropriate measures to address this issue.

The gal that checked us in was great. She heard about our long day on the train and upgraded our room to a view of the cathedral. That was very nice. The whole staff was very friendly and helpful. We liked everything.
