Hotel Lyskirchen Köln

Rooms were decent and the pool was a nice bonus. Also let us drop our bags before checkin which is helpful. Shower door was not working, a bit odd that it is glass and open to the rest of the room. Checkin process was a bit convoluted as online did not work and then the kiosks were clunky as all registration information which was definitely collected when the booking was made had to be re-entered. For me, this was twice as I had to check in two rooms. Recommend that you simplify this.

Proximity to river and most Cologne highlights. Good parking situation with an underground lot and an assigned space. Breakfast was good but repetitive with pretty much the same food on both days. Appreciated the in room coffee maker. Great heat and water pressure in the shower. Air conditioning worked sufficiently to keep the room cool. Hotel is close to a reasonably priced laundromat so I was able to get a load of laundry done before we fly home, so that was helpful. I can’t remember the name, but there is an excellent noodle place right next to the laundromat so check that out. Hotel is right across the street from the river and chocolate museum/factory and some great restaurants so that was awesome. The sausage guy right near the chocolate museum and factory was the absolute highlight of the city for me because he was hilarious and served the best brats I’ve had in Germany so far. We didn’t get to use the pool, but checked it out and it looked to be very nice… I know they are trying to go all high-tech with the advanced check-in and using your phone as a room key. This did work to open the door, but you still need a physical key to turn on the lights and make the air-conditioning work. So they are not 100% there yet. The shower was pretty small but again had great heat and water pressure so not a major issue. The staff was not rude per se, but they could be friendlier and more welcoming and not act put off when a guest has a request or a question. Clearly, they are more friendly to German speakers than those who speak other languages, especially English. Overall, it was a good enough place for a two night stay in Cologne, but frankly, I wish I had chosen another city for this part of the stay because I was not impressed with Cologne overall. Not the Hotel’s fault at all, but cologne has pretty bad traffic in the late afternoon and early evening, which caused us to check in later than anticipated and miss a tour we had planned, so just a word to the wise on that one…

The location is great, the pool and fitness room was a big plus and the beds + bedding was very comfortable and 4* level Unfriendly male concierge, (the female was however very nice), broken elevators that was not fixed since two days, only handsoap in the shower, no shampoo or conditioner, coffee cups were not refreshed, only after request, same as for the room cleaning. If paying a higher room rate these small things do not justify the price

- Comfortable bed, spacious room, modern furniture - Various breakfast selection and they were high quality + delicious (although the price point was more on the high side) - Very very strategic location and close to the nearest public transport - Had additional features like swimming pool and gym (it is rare in Germany for hotels to have this) - Check-in process was supposed to be online and seamless but this was not the case at all.. the system is a bit flawed. It’s better to just make it fully online or fully offline. The app doesn’t work. - Some staff were friendly and some were not - Not that soundproof, I still hear street noise from inside the room

Nice hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms and a pool that is nice to use at the end of the day to unwind. I have stayed at this hotel a couple times now.

Show was part of the bedroom, sink also. This is a bit odd, haven't seen this before, no separate bathroom. Luckily toilet was separate. But it didn't affect overall experience.

The location, really close to the touristic sites The rooms(specially the sigle room)are very small, the apartment was a decent size but the beds were small. The bathrooms were not so clean, the air filter at the entrance of the Apartments is really old and very dusty.. The apartment side doesn't have elevator.

The location is truly outstanding, right on the riverfront and close proximity to restaurants and shops, making it ideal for a relaxing holiday. The three apartments were fantastic—spacious, modern, and very comfortable, perfect for our group. The hotel kindly upgraded our standard double room to a superior category, but it featured only a queen bed, which felt too small and offered little comfort for two adults, leaving us very disappointed. Most of the staff were friendly and efficient, contributing positively to our stay, though one employee came across as somewhat rude, and parking—while available—was expensive with unnecessary complications when requesting a short extension. In the end, the excellent location and comfortable apartments made for a good overall stay, especially for groups. The delays, bed size issue, and minor service hiccups were drawbacks, but they didn’t overshadow the positives. Location and space

Very spacious and clean room, also nice with the extra facilities such as swimming pool and fitness. The fitness is not super equipped, there are no weights are dumbbells available.
