We reserved 4 nights here, as photos and description on Hotels.com conveyed a local, convenient location. This was our first time visiting the area, we are well traveled, middle aged retired couple who have lived in the greater Los Angeles area for 30 plus years combined, and now 20 years in small town Iowa, so our palate is wide. We arrived and found the lobby unsightly as the staff apparently doesn't have enough office space, and one employee had a vendor on her phone, on hold, with laptops and other items strewn all over a center table of what I suppose is the common breakfast dining room. The young employee who was kind enough to give us a one hour early check in was not trained. There was exterior maintenance in progress with aloof, noisy, radio blasting contractors, and then the screeching of housekeeping carts, complete with the blue haired hunched back housekeeper. We're more "suburban" and while we understand that we were "not in Kansas anymore" the sloppy "welcome" and "oh, what you want the wifi password too" attitude made a very bad first impression. X rated lyrics were blasting in this "employee lounge/ guest breakfast/gift shop space" as more employees, ignoring me as a guest, stood around speaking loudly (they wore staff tee shirts) and I've noticed this behavior with other non national brands, as employees tend to act like the cool kids at the senior table and then annoyed when us "freshman newbies"- the guests, need something. We left after the first night.

Staff very friendly! Really enjoyed the option for (free!) bicycle rental to explore the area. Prime location at the entrance of Garden of the Gods, and great shopping/dining options in the downtown.

It is a unique property that is suited for active and social travelers. They have bikes that are available to use. Live music on the certain nights. Morning breakfast and coffee bar. I will definatly come back

The lodge is ideal for folks who are cyclists and hikers. Great location and staff. The room I occupied during my stay was spacious and comfortable. Great amenities -- laundry room, ice machine, LIVE music..and easy parking. Definitely will recommend to my fellow hikers and cyclists at home. I'll be back -- planning on hiking up the Manitou Incline -- just need several months to train for it.

Excellent location, wonderful pool. While looking for something under the couch we found a chewed up dog bone, a pair of underwear, a hair tie, and so much dirt. It is also inconvenient to go to the office any time you want to use the pool or get a towel.
-
Location The plumbing in the bathroom was broken. The sink drained slowly. The faucet moved when turning on the water. The shower knob was completely off the wall.

We LOVED staying at the buffalo lodge! We didn’t get to take bikes out because our schedule was packed, but we saw many people heading out. Our two bedroom room was perfect for us and our teenager, he loved the pool and we all hung out for the awesome open mic night on Wednesday evening. The staff was super helpful, the updates they are working on look great, breakfast was perfect for us and our travels and the amenities in the room were super useful (dishes, refrigerator, coffee, etc) We will be back for sure…literally one of the cutest places we have been!

I loved the facilities and that they had a great schedule of activities from yoga to bike rides, music and more. I joined in with a Zumba pool class and the lady covering the class that week was welcoming and made the class lots of fun. The kids loved the pool and volleyball and the location was handy for garden of the gods and pikes peak. It's a reasonable price and we had a great time.
