Motel 6 Council Bluffs, IA - Omaha East

The AC unit in our other room had a big hole in it and you could see outside. The blankets were so thin, and the kiddos got too cold. The bath/shower floors were extremely slippery and one of our kiddos fell while in the shower. One room smelled badly of cigarette smoke that our asthmatic kiddo had an issue, and the other room smelled like someone sprayed a ton of cologne in there to mask the bad smells. That place needs some work. The lady at the counter when we checked in was nice though, that’s about all this place has going for it.

I feel a little misled about the reviews and photos on the Expedia site when I booked the motel. Although I can tell they were trying to make some upgrades to the rooms, some of the updates were unsuccessful. Painting over things that need fixing etc. The building itself is very old and run down. The carpeted areas were very damp and smelled old and mildewed. The room I was in had upgraded furniture but the door to the toilet and shower area could not close because it was hitting the toilet. Even if the door could close it didn’t fit into the frame. The air conditioner was missing a cover piece. I also didn’t exactly feel very safe there. Although I can tell they are trying to make improvements, I do not think I would stay there again if I come back to the area.

Upon entering, the hotel smelled dank, moist, and damp. Our room was not very clean, and smelled like cigarettes despite being non-smoking. The floor was sticky, and there were food crumbs, dust, dirt, and hair along all of the walls on the floor. Walls were grimy and dirty. None of the plug-ins in the room worked except the one by the bathroom sink. Floors in the main hallways were stained and extremely dirty. We did not see any bed bugs. Constant traffic, doors opening and slamming all night long. We did not sleep well there at all and left early and did not stay more than the 1 night. We were not offered a refund for the 2nd night we did not stay, I was not expecting one either. Will not make the mistake to stay here again. Would not recommend, go somewhere else to stay.

I’m not snobby in the least, but this place is a dump. I also arrived with my 2 sons at 230pm after a flight from California and the lady told me I’d have to play tor an early check in. Check in was 3. Stay away! I’d give it a zero star if I could.

Very old and run down. I would never recommend this motel.

The bed was uncomfy and the pillows were flat, but for the price it was expected. The hotel staff were great!

The room was dirty. I had a dead spider in my bed. The floor was sticky with boot prints. ( we were not wearing boots). The air was on 67 and could not be shut off or moved in temp. The light was attached to the tv. So when you turned the light off the tv went off. When I arrived I had to call as no one was at front desk. I survived my 6 hours. Would not go back

Nothing Everything. The smell was the worst thing

Room was clean but dated with a lot of things that needed replaced. Location is great but the room was very loud with people slamming doors and banging around. You get what you pay for and it did the job for a few nights but I doubt I’ll be back.

My room issues: Bathroom door will not close (old strip of carpet appears to be stuck to bottom of the door, wedging door to vinyl flooring); most of electrical outlets do not work; the light over the lavatory sink flickers with only pale light; the toilet self-flushes every few minutes throughout the night (kept me awake and wasted many gallons of water); the HVAC room unit missing its housing cover and there were no controls -- on second night the room became very warm; while Motel6 does not provide breakfast, this room did not even include a coffee set-up in the room. Experion/Hotels.com should IMMEDIATELY REMOVE this Motel6 from its listing. I have been a regular customer for years and this is absolutely the worse stay EVER!

The whole hotel needed maintenance. Paint cracking, unfinished bathroom, dirty rooms

We were there less than 5 minutes & decided to check out & leave because we did not feel safe and the conditions were not good. The hotel staff is refusing to communicate with Expedia about the refund process

Water on the floor upon walking in, A/C was set at over 80 degrees and the button to turn it down would not work. No hot water. Left with in 15 minutes of checking in. It is very dirty everywhere. Asked for a refund and was told a manager had to be contacted for that and haven’t heard a word since.

Room was awful!! Not clean! Smelled like old wet cigarettes in a non smoking room. Room flooded when it came a storm and we were on the second floor. They did not offer to move us just came in and mopped the floor. Would only give us two towels at a time and we kept having to put them in the floor because of the water. Vent in the bathroom fell open. My husband told the guy that came to clean up the water but he just looked at it and said it was ok. No one was at the desk when we checked in, had to call a number then was told it would be another 10 minutes before he would be there. Cost of room was way too much for what we got.

Absolutely the worst!

Book here if and only if this is your only option.

The man at the desk acted like it was a hassle to come and check me in and then I didn't get a receipt or anything. The mirror had words written on it that apparently don't come off easily. The baseboard was missing around the floor in some areas and the hallway was in obvious need of some paint and care. It was not a nice place but it was close to the airport.
