Really comfortable, the staff where super nice and the location incredible. The pan cusqueño was the best. Lastly, the installations were really good. Nothing, really good everything.

I booked this hotel because of its location and good reviews. It is within a five-minute walk of the main plaza. From the outside, the hotel looks like a regular house, and the entrance door is always locked, so staff need to let guests in and out. I arrived in Cusco early in the morning after an overnight flight. The staff contacted me on WhatsApp beforehand to confirm my arrival time. When I arrived, I was greeted with a warm smile and offered hot coca tea, which was wonderful because I was already feeling the altitude. The staff member then checked me in, and I waited only a few minutes until my room was ready. She helped me to my room, and the elevator was much appreciated after a long flight. The room was clean and spacious, with a bathroom, a small desk and chair, and a TV. There was Wi-Fi throughout the property, which made it easy to stay connected with home. My room also had a window overlooking a small garden area. The walls are thin, so you can hear noise from other areas. This is not unique to Casa Matara; it seems common in many hotels in Cusco. There is also no heating or air conditioning, but that is typical in this region. The staff provided enough blankets, so the nights were comfortable. Breakfast starts early because many travelers leave for daily excursions. I loved the homemade, made-to-order breakfast instead of a buffet. The hotel is family-run, which makes it very welcoming and especially comfortable for solo travelers. The front desk staff checked on me every day and asked whether I needed breakfast earlier than scheduled. On my last day, I had an issue with the travel agency for one of my tours, and the front desk staff helped me contact them. They also stored my luggage for a week while I was trekking. This is a clean, comfortable hotel with kind and honest staff. I highly recommend staying here. Nothing. I was a great stay.

Breakfast was great, so many options. the Staff was very friendly and helpful. They stored our luggage while we hiked the Inca trail. It was easy to find and very close to everything without being on a busy street with noise.

It's a very nice, central hotel. Th breakfast is very good. They stored our luggages during our Machu Picchu hike. On booking it's stated as "high speed internet" but it barely worked in our room at the first floor.

For our honeymoon we got upgraded to the luxury room. It was gorgeous, had a fireplace and a hot tub. Made our stay very special. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Amazing service

The breakfast, staff, and room , were all excellent. This hotel had one of the most friendliest staffs that I have ever met; every one kept a smile, and they were always very polite and accommodating. Being located 2 minutes away from the main square made it very easy to find many attractions, including museums, within walking distance. N/a

Great location - helpful staff - decent breakfast, very handy for taxi pick up as it is near a main road. Would be better with shower gel and shampoo in bathrooms. Sachet of shampoo provided and soap.

Our stay was absolutely perfect, we really would recommend staying here. Every member of staff was so kind and helpful. The rooms are lovely and clean. The breakfast is good. The location is perfect - just a short walk from the main square and lots of markets/restaurants nearby. We also did the Inca trail and the hotel kindly stored our bags for us, and we used the laundry services which was well organised.
