Quality Inn & Suites Des Moines - Merle Hay Road

Check in/out was easy. Staff was very pleasant. Room was clean and in good condition. Surprisingly quiet for the window facing the interstate! Breakfast was minimal, coffee not really good. It would have been good to have an elevator for the second floor room, but there were multiple convenient stairs. I would recommend the hotel!

Room was okay. Why was the air conditioning overnight set automatically to 54 degrees when I got up at 9am ? Could not raise temperature or turn on heat so I powered off the unit

Great place to stay convenient

Was very disappointed with this hotel. I’m visibly disabled (limping and using a cane) they gave us a second floor room with no elevator at this location. There were three adults in our party and the staff thought one key card was good enough. The hotel looked ok, but felt grimy.

Smells musty, kids screaming, dogs barking, room wasn't clean and I could hear everything in the room above me. They may as well have doors on the outside of the rooms

Hotel was very clean and very nice! Staff was great! Neighborhood is not the greatest! Lots of restaurants and places to go in the area just a little sketchy at night!

I booked my hotel online but the hotel still charged my card for another $100.

It was a good location for what we were hoping to see in the area and close to a number of restaurants The lace had a bit of a smell to it, partly like old carpets and partly like it hasn’t always been non-smoking. It also didn’t have an elevator which was a necessity but is nice for carrying bags in and out

After having stayed in more hotels all over the world than I can remember, no one is perfect but this one is a 7 or 8/10. Couple minor annoyances but I wrote them down there. Everything worked, free breakfast

Room was not very clean. Bedding seemed fine. Floor was dirty. My toddlers feet were black on the bottom after running around. Room felt bare. Building seemed a little neglected. Dining area was small and busy and floors were sticky despite someone mopping. Food was okay. Staff was nice but short and curt.

It was convenient to I35. The receptionist wasn’t clear on the room’s location and rushed in checking us in even though there wasn’t anyone else waiting. The coffee machine in the room had used pods in cup by the room. The shower did not drain while showering. It was still full when I checked out.

Room was in general clean, however pait was continually flaking off the ceiling. Breakfast area was too small for the weekend crowd.

The hotel was very humid even with AC running. Other guests were talking about it as well. It was actually unbearable. The room smelled musty created cold and allergy symptoms in my grandchildren, son-in-law and myself. Everything in the room including, clothes, books etc all were unbelievably damp from the moisture in the room.

The hotel is attached to a liquor store for starters. And, when we got to our room it was very musty smelling. I couldn't tell if it was from mold or mildew. The room was clean & spacious, but we were ready to leave as soon as possible.

Location Very poor selection of breakfast options. I was charged at check in which I was not informed of and they charged the wrong credit card. They were supposed to use my booking.com credit card that was on file with the booking but did not. They would not fix it and told me I have to contact their manager and booking.com to get it fixed. I contacted who I needed to and it is still not fixed. Do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The 7 rating on booking.com needs to be removed to a lower rating and the reviews need to be looked into. If they are doing this to me I could imagine how many others it has happened too that have not spoken up.
