I genuinely love staying at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Detroit. The hotel itself is great, and the ladies who work during the daytime are absolutely wonderful. They are friendly, welcoming, helpful, and always make me feel comfortable when I’m there. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the night auditor. Her customer service skills are extremely poor. She rarely speaks or acknowledges guests, and her overall demeanor comes across as very unfriendly and unwelcoming. When you work at the front desk of a hotel, especially overnight, guests should still feel welcomed and comfortable approaching you if they need assistance. I really enjoy this hotel and would absolutely continue staying here, but management should seriously address the level of customer service being provided during the night shift. The daytime staff is amazing and truly shows the type of hospitality I expect when staying here.

The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. Breakfast ended earlier than were used to at 9:30, but were brunch people anyway. The elevator did NOT work so that was very challenging and inconvenient as we were on the 3rd floor. My husband is a senior. The restroom in lobby also was out of service so while having coffee we'd have to go up 3 flights of stairs to use the restroom. On hotels.com it said there was a restaurant. There was not. The hotel DID offer a shuttle so we did get a shuttle downtown to our concert and back. Ken, the driver, was great. We walked to restaurants and Meijer marketplace grocery which was convenient. Coffee was good. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Not much of a view, but grateful for the a/c.

Not a bad place to stay, it’s safe. The elevator was broke and no telling how long or when it will be fixed. Good Friendly House Keeping staff, just wish the owner would put some money into the place.

The elevators were down for 3 days during my stay.

This location is so convenient, it’s not a new place, so the facility is older but in the room we were comfortable and had everything we needed!

The room was tiny small and the bathroom/closet door did not close. It was a sliding door that wasn't totally connected to the wall. It lifted at the bottom and did not slide close completely. There was No privacy between the bathroom and the bed which was crazy close together. Also the elevator was out and we were on the third floor.

Staff was friendly and professional. We had issues with our wifi connection in our first room and had to switch. the breakfast could have been better. Overall felt like everything could be a little cleaner like carpets, walls, etc. elevator was still under maintenance

Breakfast was really good...plenty to choose from. The manager was super friendly when we checked in and was pleasantly surprised when she informed me of the shuttle service.

The staff was very friendly and the parking worked out because my room I could look out and see my car I dont do breakfast but the OJ was good but I would stay again if we come back to Detroit

The room and hotel was a bit run down looking. Elevators were broke, however we were luckily on the 1st floor. There was a dirty wash cloth and towel left in our room from the last people, which was a bit gross. Other than that, it was ok.

Our flight was delayed again and we arrived at Comfort Inn at 2 AM on the second night that we were supposed to stay. The person at the front desk said our reservation was canceled again, but that we weren’t charged and could have a new room. It was not the jacuzzi room we had originally booked but we were exhausted and rebooked a different room for two nights. There was a spoon on the stairs up to our room and it smelled like smoke in the stairway. Elevator was broken. Our sheets smelled like mildew and there was an old beer in our fridge when we checked in. Upon leaving we discovered we were charged for four nights because our first two reservations that got canceled had been charged after all. We stayed 2 nights and were charged for 4 between bookings directly with the hotel and through Expedia and no one has been willing to give us a refund or help us. We travel often for business and we were long time customers of choice inn so this was very disappointing. Also the sliding wooden door to the bathroom was hard for me to navigate with my arthritic hands. The only good things were the location & hotel bar.

I do not normally review a property however I had to say something about this one. I will never stay here again. The only thing good about this hotel was the staff and the shuttle service. It needs serious renovations. They charged $400.00 for one night and the elevator was out, the carpets were filthy, the curtains were filthy, the room smelled like old smoke and is dingy. I was concerned I was going to take home something more than my luggage. . On the good side, we were here for a concert and the shuttle service was awesome and the staff was very friendly.
