An elegant, peaceful relais, overflowing with art and history, completely made from scratch where once stood the tower-houses of the noble families of Florence, cradle of the Renaissance: the Relais Uffizi lies in the deepest heart of the city, right in Piazza della Signoria, just a few yards away from the Uffizi Gallery. Hosted in a sixteenth-century carefully restored palace, today our relais comes to new life with a totally modern look, but keeps track of an illustrious past, when it was a noble residence in the most lively part of the historic center. It is a relais with a modern concept, refined and wedded to art: among paintings, statues and sumptuous furnishing, everything is conceived to warmly welcome and make you feel at home in the heart of Florence. Furniture and materials play with the elegant shades of petroleum blue contrasting with beige and gold that warm up the environment. In addition, all rooms are soundproofed, in order to allow our guests a good rest. The Relais degli Uffizi lies in the historical part of Florence: in 16, Chiasso del Buco, you access from Chiasso dei Baroncelli, a narrow medieval alley that opens up on Piazza della Signoria and flanks the Uffizi Gallery. Spending a holiday in our relais means take a trip back to the XVI century Florence and fully relive the atmosphere of that time: here resided some of Florence’s most eminent families and there were workshops of painters, blacksmiths and farriers. To reach the city’s wonderful attractions it only takes a few minute walk: you only need to get out of our relais to find yourself in Piazza della Signoria, in front of Palazzo Vecchio, the statue of David by Michelangelo, the Loggia della Signoria, the Fountain of Neptune and then the Uffizi. The rooms were beautiful and so clean! The staff were very nice and friendly. I stayed here for my birthday with my mom. Little to my knowledge - my boyfriend, in Canada, was in contact with the staff the entire time to send flowers, prosecco and tiramisu to my room on my birthday. The staff was so accommodating to his requests. I would 100000% stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone. The only downfall was there is a bit of a walk to the property from the nearest road but we were anticipating it, as the hotel sent us instructions prior to our arrival on how to get there. I think if I had 1 less luggage, the short walk wouldn’t be bad at all.

First of all, the location: it's like 30 meters from the Piazza della Signoria, double that from the Uffizi, and maybe a 5-minute walk from Ponte Vecchio. The Dome and many churches and basilicas are also very close by, as are a million gelaterias, restaurants, and snack bars. On the other side of Ponte Vecchio, there is a very nice supermarket. The room was not enormous, but very comfortable with fast wifi, a clean bed, and a spacious bathroom; no bathtub, but with a big shower. The breakfast was very, very tasty (get the ham & cheese omelet with tomatoes or the berry pancake!), but only the small buffet and one food item is free. (Free as in included in the breakfast price.)

This hotel is a true hidden gem! The location is fantastic, just a short walk from all the major sights. The rooms are exceptionally clean, peaceful, and comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring.
