Maison Santa Croce

The staff was very helpful and kind. The room was clean and big. I didn't know that there was no staff on the property after 8:30. There was a problem with our key and it was quite a fiasco getting our power to work as the other key (they only provide 2 and there were three of us) was with my son.

We had a difficult experience traveling in Italy, especially considering the amount of time, effort, and money we invested in this trip. We visited Venice, Florence, and Rome, and unfortunately, we encountered several unpleasant interactions. Some retail workers, grocery store employees, and reception staff came across as rude and unwelcoming. In one instance, we were even subjected to racist remarks, which we have reported and sincerely hope will be addressed appropriately. That said, our experience at this hotel completely changed our perspective. From the moment we arrived, the receptionist was exceptionally kind and genuinely eager to help. We had forgotten our U.S. power adapter, and although she didn’t have an immediate solution, she took the time to search for options and made us feel heard and cared for. After several disappointing experiences elsewhere, that simple act of kindness meant a lot. The stay itself has been excellent—the room, amenities, and housekeeping have all exceeded our expectations. However, I especially want to recognize the staff member in the breakfast area. Her warmth and genuine care made a lasting impression on us. She thoughtfully checked whether I needed anything else and even reminded me to take food for my toddler and wife before breakfast service ended. She greeted every guest with a smile and treated everyone with kindness. She embodies the hospitality we had hoped to experience during our visit to Italy. In many ways, her compassion and positivity made our trip—and certainly my personal experience—much happier. None

The hotel is lovely and the location is great right next to the square at St Croce. The rooms were nicer than expected with great decorations and very nice big bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable and the furniture in the room was very nice. The breakfast was fantastic.

I have stayed many times but this time there were many problems The location ia great and the staff are fine but they have developed a new floor in the building and there were all sorts of issues. Our room was billed as Superior. Not Superior Deluxe but it was tiny. It was on the new floor and not as nice as the older floor above. You had to inch around the bed. The night tables were tiny and things kept falling off. The bathroom sink area was also too small. A lot of bad design decisions. We came back one afternoon to no electricity and one couple had a malfunctioning toilet. Later we had to find the staff because a loud banging noise began. This place was once really wonderful. The renovation felt to me based on greed and functioned as brand dilution. I was really disappointed as this has been my home in Florence for a while now.

Staff very helpful. My daughter’s luggage needed to be delivered to the hotel. The staff gladly spoke to the delivery driver to bridge the communication gap between languages. Her luggage would have never made it without there help Floors in shower very slippery when wet and soapy.

Fantastic location. Walking distance to all the sites but away from major crowded streets. The Santa Croce area is perfect. The room itself was spacious, beautiful and clean. The room was in an historic building but had all the modern touches including a big bathroom. We were so comfortable there. I would definitely stay there again when in the area. I felt lucky to have found this gem No dislikes.

Beautiful new hotel with wonderful rooms, amazing location, friendly staff.

Located steps away from Basilica de Santa Croce in the perfect neighborhood!!! We loved the secure coded entrance and the ability to walk anywhere within about 15 minutes. Staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating!!! Breakfast was delicious each morning and we really enjoyed aperitivos outside!! Can’t wait to return!!!

Location and very helpful staff (reception, housekeeping) Everything was clean but we did not like the smell of sewage/drainage coming from the bathroom (and in the closet), especially coz there wasnt an exhaust fan inside the bagno. :( But we understand it's probably the ancient old Florentine sewages so it might just be something that can't be helped :)

The hotel is located in my favourite part of Florence. It’s easy to walk all over the city from the hotel. The hotel feels homey and the staff are very nice and attentive. Rooms are large and in an old building which has been very well maintained. Don’t hesitate to book this spot.

The place is beautiful, the room is comfortable and quiet. It was a good choice. If you're bringing a car, you need to be careful. The area is a protected ZTE zone, and if you drive there during restricted hours, you can get fined. There's a parking lot nearby, but it was always full, so we had to leave the car on the street next to the river.

The only thing was that the AC was dusty and persons with breathing problems might notice

This hotel was absolutely stunning. My room was so nice and spacious. The staff was wonderful and incredibly welcoming and helpful. Also the location is prime and easily accessible, everything is walkable and really close to the bus stop
