Best Western Carowinds

Overall, I am disappointed with this hotel. While driving up, the place looked suspect, we passed an under construction hotel, concrete rubble, sad Mexican restaurant, trashy parking lot etc. At 2, we inquired about early check in (3 is their check in), we were told that check in was at 3 and offered no explanation.Rude . Because we booked on a 3rd party site, we were beholden to the front desk and came back after getting provisions. When we returned, No pets are allowed sign on door. We got in line to check in. It took 21 minutes! There were only 2 patrons ahead of us. We were met with unfriendliness, no explanation of breakfast, pool, ice, or venting, just business... "This is Wi-Fi password,Sign-here, put your make and model here." Our room was enough, however, cigarette stains on the countertop and water stains coming through paint of walls. The pool was the best part of our stay but someone from the staff seemed to be "supervising" the guests all the time as they were always in view in the common areas but said nothing to anyone. It was creepy. Breakfast was provided, but very limited: fruit loops and raisin bran, only white bread for toast, egg disks, bacon (surprising), coffee, apple juice, waffles and yogurt. Again, staff was there, they did clean but no interactions. Not comfortable at all. We were there until the last minute as I had 3 small children with me and staff was outside in the hallway and eager to get our room as soon as we left. We will not be back!

Property was run down. Young kids were out front drinking in front of building causing issues for guests coming into building. A/c didn’t work. Wasn’t very clean

10/10 all around!! When we came inside after getting our things the staff stopped us and told us we were getting a different room than the one they were giving us to begin with because the AC was broken. They are so sweet

We were located next to the elevator so had disrupted sleep both nights.

Room was comfortable and had plenty of space. Wish the air went down lower-the room never felt like it got cold enough for our comfort. Pool was nice size and easy to access

The only thing I liked about the place was it was kinda empty I’ve stayed here for several years and it’s a shame to say that I’m not staying in here anymore when I come pick up My Son the breakfast is horrible I’m not a picky person, but I was so disgusted by the breakfast and I used to be homeless.

Room was comfortable, breakfast limited but good, and housekeeping staff very helpful. the big problem was the lack of luggage carts. There was one available when we checked in and we used it and returned it. However, the next morning, there was not a cart to be found. Checked the other floors and the parking lot - nothing. Started carrying and dragging luggage and still no carts. This can be a problem for people in their 80s. loaded the car and ate breakfast - still no carts. Obviously, people had them in their rooms. I did let the front desk know.

Super clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, always had fresh soap and towels and sheets. Very impressed with this location. Will definitely be back.

Not much.... the yogurt. Eggs were runny, not much selection at breakfast. Hot tub in room was not clean, knobs broken etc. No water was a HUGE downside in the AM. Will NOT be returning to this location.

Everything was very clean. The room and bed were comfortable. Great shower. Location very close to Carowinds. Not many tables in the breakfast area.
