Out of all of the dorm rooms I stayed in Japan, Kagelow had the biggest, cleanest, and quietest bed. A lovely 10 minute walk away from the station with a view of Mt. Fuji right outside, this is the perfect starting point for your Fuji excursion. Overall, if I find myself in the area and catch Mt. Fuji on a day with perfect visibility once again, I would come back here. No elevators for big luggage - but you're free to leave them downstairs. The walk going there can be bumpy with your luggage, but it was manageable. It's best to travel light when you go anywhere in Japan anyway. I didn't really mind the guests from the restaurant downstairs which is only really open during dinner. Just be patient when the staff are accommodating restaurant guests as well.

The location was absolutely stunning and the cafe downstairs was so yummy

Clean and comfortable. Has a nice kitchen and good bathrooms. Slept very well! It didn’t have much for a shared common space in the evening as it was shared with the restaurant.
-
Very stylish and cozy hostel. Facilities are clean. The staff are kind as well. The location is on a quiet neigborhood but only a short walk to the station where many of the stores are located.

Cool people and set up very clean and comfortable. Loved it Nothing

Convenient location, close to the main station. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious and clean. This has nothing to do with the property per se, but there were some people drinking and taliking loudly past midnight in the outside lounge, so disrespectful to other guests and neighbors.

The service I received was unacceptable. The staff women member was openly unfriendly, disrespectful, and behaved as if my presence was a problem. When I ordered a coffee, he was at the café bar but still forgot my order and paid no attention to me. His attitude made me feel looked down on, ignored, and discriminated against. This is not the level of respect or professionalism anyone should experience at a hotel.

The room was clean, the bathrooms were clean and equipped with basic necessities, and the pantry/kitchen was clean. Overall I definitely enjoyed my stay here!

Beautiful property and friendly staff There were no showers on the second floor

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-prepared. But what truly made my experience special was the kindness of the staff, especially Minori, who was very helpful even after my stay. She kindly sent me my forgotten item from Japan with great care and attention. I really appreciate their professionalism and warm hospitality. I would be happy to stay here again when I visit Japan next time.

Nice stay

For a 12-person dorm, there is only one washroom, and there is no shoe rack, so people need to keep their shoes near their beds, and it smells badly. Hygiene is too low.

I didn't like that there was only one wallet outlet in the bunk bed for charging purposes, some of us travel with more than one electronic device that requires to charge them during the night and keeping our stuff close. Lockers were too small, bags barely fit in and if it didn't you would have to leave it out hoping that none go over your stuff [it didn't happen but you always try to be careful]

Close to kawaguchiko station, and the design inside and outside of the hostel is beautiful. I really enjoyed the main area where you could just chill out. It was a bit hot in the hallway I was in but could easily be fixed with a fan but the receptionist offered to let me use the fan they keep in the front so it was all good

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! Would definitely stay here again!

The air conditioner was great! In some places the AC feels like a mediocre fan. At this place it worked like expected! Thanks! They have co-ed bathrooms and showers. I didn’t like this. They also have rocks at the entrance so it’s hard to roll luggage in and there is no elevator which is inconvenient. However, I should have checked this before booking.

Kagelow is an easy 10 minute walk from the bus and train station and Fuji can be seen from the street. The facilities themselves are very comfortable with a relaxing outdoor seating area and cool air conditioned dorm with large lockers. The cafe also serves as a communal space. Staff were also very friendly and helpful There is only one bathroom, the room can feel a bit cold and humid, if not eating at the restaurant you may have to hang out in the hot sun outside. Would be nice to have a vegan option on the menu.
